Android is where it’s at. I’ve got a Galaxy Fascinate and it’s the best phone I’ve ever had.

I like being able to use my android phone basically as a usb stick. Throw movies/music/pictures on there via drag and drop and they just work. I know with apple devices (i own a ipod touch) you have to transfer everything through itunes. And the retarded thing is you cannot transfer FROM YOUR DEVICE BACK ONTO YOUR COMPUTER.

Actually you can transfer outside of itunes, but you have to jailbreak it and use a Cydia app called iFile. You can transfer back and forth, and you can view movie files through iFile’s file viewer. Too bad it supports mp4 and only a few, and it doesn’t work with the default music/video menu.
I’m absolutely amazed that Apple has such strict policies about formats and stuff, and people just sit there and take it. In the era we live in, with so many important formats and software, how can Apple just say “no” and people are happy?
Since I don’t watch movies on iPhone I can live with that.

Because the majority of people are not techies. They do not want a phone that does more than what apple offers. Most people want simple. No one can screw up a Mac device (I’m a big fan of simple).

I’m going to play hockey tonight in the SW if anyone is interested at around 8. Address for google maps purposes is 14826 Millrise Hill SW. I know it’s out of the way for most people, but open invite if people want to make the drive. Usually 10-15 guys, zamboni’D ice, also a patch of ice outside the main rink if you just want to skate around.
So you seriously can’t use it as a portable drive without hacking it and installing software and stuff? That’s retarded! I would consider that a basic and standard pre-req for any device. It can easily do it, and everything else does it, so it’s like Apple is trolling you or something… I don’t get it.

That alone makes me want to never buy an apple product. I understand that they’re pretty awesome for artsy/design type stuff, but since I don’t do that, I don’t see myself ever buying one. They’re supposed to be easy to use, and yeah the interface and aesthetics are slick as hell, but if I have to wade through all this bloated proprietary software I don’t need when I could easily do what I want in a couple keystrokes on another device… fuck that.
