He zones and waits for the opponent to close in while taking chip/avoid arrows then hits them with shield skills or frame traps
His best limbs are stand m, stand h, back h and jump h
Spidey swing is okay too now with his buff
You open people up with frame traps (an easy and common one is shield skills xx charged L arrows)
With the right assists and THCs you can do some sick unblockable setups.

He’s best played as a zoner because he has next to no mixups. He as good defensive options with st. and +:h:, but he’s not very scary up close without specific setups (unblockables). If you’re really pro you can link off his unblockable without using meter, but that’s kinda spacing dependent since you have to hit with the later active frames. He does however do nice chip up close so I tend to get in there every now and then mostly because I get bored otherwise. You can also wave dash in and sneak a throw.
A good chip string would be something like call Doom missiles, dash + shield skills (this makes it go much further and negates pushblock a lot) xx lvl 3 Aim Master, missiles get blocked, level 3 Aim Master, Missiles end, dash shield skills xx level 3 Aim Master. So that’s ((90k + 150k) x 3 + Missiles damage (shrug))/4, which is about 200k of chip damage if they don’t pushblock. Not too shabby and you can always blow meter on Legion Arrow for more chip damage is they pushblock you away to a safe distance. The whole series builds a bunch of meter anyway.
This is pretty much 100% safe against everyone but the shorties since they can crouch under some of the arrows and interrupt you with their fast normals (Wolvie, Amma, X-23, Bird Whore of Babylon etc). When you cancel Shield Skills from really close, it’s a completely tight block string and level 3 Aim Master is like +3 on block, so you can even do a fourth rep and it will be a frame trap.
Be leary of doing this if your opponent is trigger happy with the X-factor because blockstun obviously means nothing in that case (p.s. Marvel sucks).

Because that’s not how it works. It’s completely timer based. What attacks you use have dick all impact on the hitstun of subsequent moves apart from the very first hit of a combo.

While you are correct about how hit stun technically works most people who play this game would totally understand what somebody means by saying move Y generates more hit stun than X.
And let’s be honest there is no UMVC jargon and etiquette instructing players on exactly how they should communicate about the game, so using a variety of terms to get a point across isn’t that big a deal.

You can try and obscure what was originally intended by arguing semantics and referring to completely inapplicable lexical definitions. It doesn’t change the fact that he meant different moves add varying amounts of hitstun decay to the hitstun meter without any regard to how long it takes them to animate (animation + hitstop + hitstun). That is the only consideration. Apart from the first hit of a combo, the type and strength of attack has no bearing whatsoever on the hitstun of subsequent moves in a combo.
