yeah i hear u, there are lots of ways to punish backdashes. but i think his point is moreso just the mentality that he has on wakeup, not that he just goes for backdash on wakeup instead of blocking all the time.

Speaking of Soul Calibur, I was messing around in training mode with Xiba last night and it was melting my brain. There are SO many options with each character, it’s such a complex game on the surface at least. Just trying to remember everything that my character can do is a challenge, and Xiba is supposed to be one of the easier characters lol!

Also Peter, I’m envious that you dont have to block on wakeup hahaha

I’m assuming you’re using doom rocks for a combo extender?
In that case do Cap (Shield Slash)/ Wesker (Doesn’t matter, but I’d use OTG to convert off throws easier) / Doom (Beam)
You can still extend the combo with doom in a corner with beam. Right when you land OTG and call Doom, mash jab and the second jab connects press S for the relaunch.
Or you could just OTG with wesker for one
Wesker/Doom beam is still what it is
Or you could even put Wesker on point. In a corner you can OTG and call Cap assist, do stand H cancel into Super for full Maximum Wesker damage because Shield slash on the way back pulls the enemy out of the corner.

if u time ur jabs correctly you’ll be able to block the srk, i’ve seen js master/pr balrog do it. i think that they eyeball the sweep too then against shotos because you’re right, they’ll eat an srk

i can make 3f reversals whiff with safejump (+ OS if u want) setups. but if he delays them it auto-corrects and i lose. :frowning: peter is very good at that tho, he doesnt mash the reversal he waits and pwns me.

lol well i get all my stuff done super early usually, (tho not at 100% effort). ive never had to pull an all-nighter and i dont play much when im not at tubbys/dickens anymore. im in VC right now as i type this lol. but i should definitely focus more on school. im gonna probably start showing up less. i always feel shitty when i play video games cuz even if im done my hw i should be practicing drawing as much as possible.

i also dont do shit else other than go to tubbys lol. i have zero social life outside of that really, so once a week isnt too bad. (i also have thursdays off.)

but yeah… less games more drawing will benefit me more than anything… i care alot more about my future career and skills then i do about getting good at video games.
