it will be interesting for sure. a lot of people who play at tubby dog started with sfiv so marvel 3 will be a cool way to apply fighting game knowledge to something a bit different. some of the execution and fighting game concept barriers are gone so they can get involved with the metagame on the ground floor instead of just xcopying youtube videos.

I might X-copy more than anyone else in Calgary. Since I play random so often, I kind of need to. I’ll just watch random Youtubes, go “hey that looks cool” for a given character, then try it at Tubby’s next week in the tournament without really practicing it. :lol:
Maybe that’s why my “book knowledge” for SSF4 is so high? Because I watch so many videos for so many characters?
I usually try to learn on my own, but since I’m going mostly random now, I might start watching more videos.
Evil Ryu and Oni Akuma look pretty cool imo. Oni looks kinda like a viable Gouken with a dp. I really dig his crossupground move too; I’ve always wondered why more ground moves (if any) didn’t force the opponent to block the other way. Seems like a logical progression to the ground mixup game. I bet FADC hado then crossup move will be a really sweet mixup, even more so if you can cancel the move so no attack comes out.
Edit: Lol, I’m not all piss and vinegar. If something looks cool to me I’ll freely admit it. If I find something is stupid I won’t hide it either. Sadly almost everything about SF4 falls into camp B for me.

Maybe they have some complex after all the happenings with the MVC3 roster? Still hoping Sentinel is incorrect though. I’m assuming we will get the last two characters on the 27th: the day of Gamespot and Capcom’s MVC tournament. And the last two SSF4 AE characters… who knows when (There has to be 2 more, there’s no way the character select screen is going to stay looking like that permanently).
I’ll definitely order Yomi with you. I’ll have to wait until my next paycheck though in a couple weeks, as this one was all tuition, and then some :(.
hahahah well supposedly they weren’t supposed to be unlocked until May by a code. Maybe they were trying to have their appearance coincide with AE for consoles. Cat’s out of the bag now . . .

Did you guys see todays interview in regards to SSF4 3D edition? Apparently online you can filter out players using “simple mode”, so I guess that could mean MVC3 will have the same option online… for better or worse.
Hmm, in a few weeks I’m heading to Japan for 3 weeks, I was kind of hoping to snag it before I left. :\ Although I don’t want to pressure you into buying something you don’t have the money for, lol.
went to eb games, bought a new pad (red, came with god of war i/ii HD remix) and the new castlevania game. also pre-ordered my MvC3 copy, tomorrow i’ll be booking the 15th off.
i’m still hosting a release party at my place, everyone is welcome. i’ll have my two setups plus josh said he’d bring one as well. whomever attends are more than welcome to bring more.
i really appreciate what Mike said about how MvC3 will give the new players to the scene something to learn from. it’s so true that alot of regular players starting getting serious with SSFIV. which is why i’m afraid that MvC3 will take over… i’m still learning SFIV!!!
