I dunno man I just got threatened with physical violence from a trollin victim
some ppl do not understand the art of trolling

Not sure what Vega U2 after a seismo would accomplish, unless you delayed it until you were sure he wasn’t going to feint, then powered through another seismo? That just seems like a reaction ultra to me (which is a good idea if you can do it). If you just do it anyway, Viper can (I imagine) feint after the ultra freeze and block. If you go under a HJC burn kick with U2, can’t Viper just punish with HP seismo anyway?

Yes on both accounts.

EDIT: He could do U2 just before the Seismo would hit him. This is how Cammy’s will U1 through a Seismo chain.

Looks so sick. At first I was like meh. But now it’s like holy shit. Techno fireworks yo

my training mode exercise for the last few days has been trying to get a MvC2 char to move like the top players can make em move. no combos, nothing like that… just jumping, wave dashing, sjcing into tri jumps, and so on

fuck that is hard. I always wonder why I can never dash… its because I have such a strong plinking muscle memory, if I want to press lp+fp I always plink. to dash I have to press lp+fp+assist1 but then I get confused because I only use the left two buttons in a combo
I’m debating remapping my controls so I can dash by pressing SF4 throw buttons instead because for some reason I try dashing like that anyway. so my buttons would be lp lk ass1 / fp rh ass2

gaaaaaah
hopefully MvC3 supports us scrubs who only know SF4’s input engine

what’s the proper button setup for mvc3?

A B Ast1
C E Ast2

??

i think its

a b c
e a1 a2

pretty dumb imo

also yeah man its really hard to break the habit, it just takes a LOT of games to get proficient at it

tri jumping is pretty much all i do in mvc2 and im not even that good at it yet, if i try to rush the corner of the screen down with trijump and fp to get meter with storm i still won’t always get the hp to come out. i’ll trijump but not get the meter and pretty much be doing a shit load of nothing

you could always set it like MvC2

a c a1
b e a2

I’m okay with the default since it’s identical to my BB setup with assists

Oh lawd, was doing randoms today and was constantly getting owned by this mysterious Guy player that was stealing all my Player Points, i finally stop doing randoms to play my buddy in an endless battle and i get a message.

HELLO JOSH ITS JERRICK. suddenly it all made sense hahah

Who are the last 2 characters?

If the leak list is right, which is has been thus far, the last 2 characters are Sentinel and Hsien-ko (Lei-Lei) from Vampire Savior. If Hsien-Ko plays anything like her Vamp Savior counter part she’s going to be an excellent trap character.

Hsien ko and no dmitri? Whatever!

Sentinel is cool though

Although clearly its time for Vega in mvc3. Full screen pokes Yeahhh

really excited for hsein ko. i wanted to learn her in DS but i never really got into the series. all i know is she can swing around and drop shit all over the screen.

Just wanted to be honest and say ideally i like to stomp always.

however

I may not under three circumstances:

  1. As mark said: trying to learn new strats with a new char

or

  1. If i cannot preface a match with a total noob by saying something like “I think you’re a cool guy/girl but if you wanna get better I am gonna totally crush you now because that is how i learned and it would be disrespectful to do otherwise.”

or

3.Person has threatened me with serious physical violence (this has happened in more than one arcade and basement)

Hsien-Ko as a character and play style is a million times more interesting then Dimitri. :stuck_out_tongue:
The game needs a good trap character that don’t resort to full screen projectiles or guns. There’s a few things I want them to keep from her Vampire Savior counter part. The pendulum swing auto crosses over, anvil & spikes super is a level 1 first hit is an overhead and she recovers during the spiked ball drop for mix ups and her air dash is canceable. It would be really cool if her pendulum was one of her assists.

Hehe Sam, I’m pretty sure he’s kidding around but the sentiment is no doubt appreciated.

Nav tells me you’re in Fort Mac installing water heaters or something? Come see us when you get back.

I’m suprised no one has mentionned anything about easier inputs in MvC3. I think there’s a fairly large window to press your button and activate special moves in MvC2, but there are no shortcuts.

That’s part of what makes the game so much fun. It would be alot more boring if it didn’t require that kind of execution. If they retardify it à la SF4, they would be killing Marvel.

Not installing water heaters or anything related to that but def working up north. Navs hilarious, lol. For sure Mike I’d love to get some games in with you next time.

Being calm and controlled is an admirable trait but he’s just crossing the line and we have such an amazing, humble group of people who are willing to look past it. I’d understand if he’s close with us… or if hes actually funny, but neither is the case. Frankly I don’t give a fuck how nice he is or claims to be.

Stop feeding the trolls. lol

Easy execution has nothing to do with fun factor for a fighting game. In the original SF it was really difficult doing any of the special moves the execution was ridiculous for that game. I don’t think you find that fun you would find that frustrating. We can all appreciate the execution requirements for certain things like Viper or Ibuki’s SJC Ultra, hard 1 frame links, perfect reversal timing in ST, the entirety of Guilty Gear and MVC2 but that’s not the fun part of those games. I’d only complain about easy inputs in MVC3 if it prevents me from properly performing certain things. I’d be more worried about retarded game play mechanics then simplified inputs.

Just keep on at it Cody. I still have trouble wavedashing but with practice I’ve gotten it down a lot more than before (and I didn’t even know how to do it until Mike showed me last wednesday!).

The glorious thing about MVC2 is that it is SO much fun in training mode learning what some OTGs are or how to set up infinites or godlike resets. Dicking around with Magneto is a blast because there’s practically no skill cap on the guy, you can pretty much make up unblockable setups on the fly too.

A really good way to get dashing into your system is to practice the cr fierce SJC F/RH > DF Airdash > what the fuck ever since if you plink that you’ll see it immediately.

And I finally got 20 hits on Magneto’s infinite today against Cable, fuck year.

Also Tyler you called? I was at the flames game. I’m guessing either you wanted to jam games or wanted your shit back. Give me a call whenever and I’ll try to get back to you.
