Aw man you gotta be money on those corner bks. I’m almost always 100% with those. Saves my ass so much.

I don’t like midscreen bk to ultra though. It’s too iffy to get that bk at the right height every time and then you have to input the ultra backwards sometimes. Just too many variables. Imo ex seismo to meterless fadc is much better. More consistent since it’s the same on all characters, easier to land every time, less crap to worrry about, etc.

I agree, i’m not happy about missing the corner ultras so much. I don’t really get a chance to do it though with the comp out here much. Everyone turtles up alot in the corner on me, which i’m ok with. About 90% of the corner Ultras i land are the good ol’ Uryo setup we’ve all seen him do on Mago’s Sagat at God’s Garden. (Ab Massage throw, overhead to cross up while they’re still floored, normal BK crossup again as they wake up, Ultra.)

I find that most of the time when i sjc fadc ultra, i get an ex seismo instead, because i suck. So as of now i only do the sjc fadc sweep when i don’t have ultra. Or i do the sjc fadc reset crossup bk to be flashy. I lose alot in casuals just being flashy. worth it.

On a side note: People are starting to notice my far fierce fadc to safely burn 2 meters now. Get’s a laugh out of the room. worth it.

I’m telling you man, if for ANY reason I have 2 meters @ the start of Round 2/3, I Far Fierce FADC just 'cause.
That’s the most disrepectful taunt ever, it’s like “Son, fuck these meters, I don’t need 'em to beat you. Real talk headstomp.”

Next tourney I go to I’m building full super and doing that shit twice, back to back, while I stare at my opponent like ughhhhhhh.

I would love to see this on youtube lol

E-highfive. No homo.

As scrubby as it sounds, I really need help with my ground game. Perhaps more accurately I need help with offence I can’t be shut down by a shoryuken. My main source of damage comes from jump ins, but once people realise that shoryu stuffs any jump in I could try I find myself absolutely sunk. I don’t have a stick, so I can’t throw out insta-cross up burnkicks and stuff like that to keep the pressure on and trying to do things like that on a pad is a living hell. I’m just kinda stuck here, banging my head against a wall with :dp::lp: on it.

Either pick a new character or put in the time in training mode to learn her stuff. People can do all her moves on pad so you don’t have an excuse.

I’m waiting till I get a stick before I dive into the complexities of her, I just don’t want a fundamental lack in my play ability before I do move over to stick.

You might want to try playing Rufus until you get a stick. He has a similar rush down fighting style, but he’s infinitely easier in the execution department. Still very fun though, and he will teach you how to mix up between grounded attack strings and his dive kick to keep the opponent guessing.

Get a stick soon though, Viper is stupid fun.

Yeah, I play him as well as Akuma and Boxer, though I still treat Viper as my main cause she’s just such fun to play.

Christmas is when I’m hoping to snag one.

Learn Street Fighter. Yes, jump-ins score big damage, but you have to earn that shit, son. Smart players know that defense wins in this game, so you have to irritate the shit out of them to get them to break their shell. You’ve got to footsie them with a char that has no footsies, really. c.mkxxTK is your friend. On hit, you’re inside, at advantage, stay there, make them fux up. Know where your gaps are, and stop some strings at the gap and just block for a second. This will either block their scrub ass dp, or at least give you an idea of whether or not they know where your gaps are. I guarantee when you tag them with 3 overheads in a row, they’ll open up for you. For some reason, the overhead is ass damage, but annoys the shit out of players so much they will start doing dumb shit so they don’t get hit by it anymore. If they block the cr.mkxxTK, you can just backdash on most chars to get out safely, and rinse repeat. They take chip, and your position is reset. Also, learn to seismoxxsjcxxseismoxxet al. That shit is crazy chip, and really gets them moving. Them moving = not blocking. And them moving to get around seismo = in the air = free anti-air. Generally, people will take the first two in the chain and jump out of the third. Feint that shit, and dash up heavy knuckle for easy damage.

My bad for not noticing this earlier. Thanks for the tips today at Ranbats, Flook.

now i have the game (finaly) i can do the basic combos but i have some questions

1-what you can do vs people who do srk vs your cross up? i hate that .always when i b.throw him and i do the j.hk ambiguous cross up i get srk not matter the side i land

2-what is the best answer vs people who cross over me? …i know i can block any other option?

i don’t understand c.viper well…she have mix up i know but he do shit damage out of her combos intro ultra i am a very footsie/turtle players any advice?

anyway viper is soo nice

  1. If they wanna srk your jump-ins, BK directly on top of their head, that’ll beat out SRK. Or do an empty jump and block to try and bait it out or something.

  2. As for people crossing you up, I think a good option is to do EX Seismo feint. It’ll make the cross-up pass through you without leaving you open. But really, it’s best to block I feel.

Viper’s damage is very good actually, she’s got nasty combos and they can dizzy quickly. Viper isn’t really about turtling or footsies, though you still need footsies and you’ll need to turtle at times.(Zangief, lol) But generally you don’t want to turtle, you want to be in their face mostly and aim for knockdowns.

EDIT: I need to get round to rounding up all the basic questions and turning it into a mini-faq…I’m lazy so I’ll do it much later, lol.

Somebody asked this question 10 pages back or so, but all he got as an answer was that you just have to be fast:

How do you spam the seismo feint… I see viper players literally blink like a discolight! I can’t seem to grasp how someone can execute 3 seismo cancels in a second without some trick to it?:stuck_out_tongue:

No trick to it, just train your hands. When i do the useless chains at full screen just for show, i do them like i Paint the Fence in CvS2. Basically after the first forward, i just repeat fireball motions and press the buttons at the appropriate times. Sort of hard to explain. Pretty much i’m pressing f, d, df, f, d, df, f, ad nauseum, and just hitting lp at every df, and lp+mp immediately following. Just takes practice, like everything else she does.

Fair enough:P But when you say useless chains… is that really true? I mean… I though viper often spammed the feint to trick the opponent to jump, or to time the seismo to hit at the excact time a player lands on the floor after a jump? Im sure it can be used purely for flashiness too, but it has it uses?

He said at full screen. At full screen you can’t hit anyone with a seismo unless they throw a fireball or something. So doing feints at that distance has no purpose. From close ranges seismo feints are very good though. They get people to do random shit that you can punish.

Hi guys, I’m back, I’ve only played a bit, but I think I’ve progressed. I’ve come out of training to do some online fights a few times, and I fail to execute because of panic from players that rush, at least for first couple fights against them, and I have some real bad habits. Jumping way too much and forgetting to dash, timing vipers moves too late/slow and getting hit half way through the move, I’ve been over-extending my quarter circles and doing super jumps, that’s probably from the panic of trying execute a move too fast.

Do any of you guys have advice for me, anything you did to help if you had any of these problems? or if I just gotta keep on practicing until I get shit right.

Half of your problem is in the first two words of my quote. I would recommend against online, unless there is nobody local to play. Her shit’s got a small enough margin for error as is.
No trick to the other stuff, just work that shit out with time. I was the same way when i started, too much Marvel/GG, and i was trying to squeeze shit in where i should be just smartly blocking. With time in the game you’ll start to “feel” the engine, and where the real gaps are. Smooth > speed.
