The most important things you should avoid with Viper:
Playing her
Annoying the fuck out of me by asking the questions that’s already been asked a hundred times over
Going back to play her more after getting yelled at by me and coming back with the same questions

Are there any helpful hints you guys can give on some of the following? Ive only just started practicing with viper but I can do must of her tougher execution stuff but not all of it.
Meterless fadc after seismos.
TK feints/Raw TK’s after seismo. - I can do these but the way I do them seems like I’m really putting in extra work in the motions.
Things like Blocked mp seismo, SJC fp feint seismo, immediate fp seismo. Essentially, is there a certain method to getting the next seismo after a feint out faster?
instant SJC burn kicks - ive heard the best way to do these is similar to cammy’s cannon strikes but delay the kick after hitting up forward for like half a second. I sometimes get immediate SJ roundhouse.
Thanks guys.
YES. And all of them can be found in the threads.
MULTIPLE FUCKING TIMES
I am beginning to believe that there are people out there to come back and counter-troll me by posting the exact same questions over and over again. I swear, I’ve -personally- answered all of these questions at least twice each already. Considering that I alone have answered each of these questions multiple times, think about how many times they have answered by other helpful people on the thread - Killey, Wonderswan, Subzero, Ryuga, Kraal, Mikoal, just to name a few. Your asking of these questions is simply disrespecting their willingness to put their time and effort into helping you.
The answers to all these questions can all be found within the last 10 or so pages of this thread, and sometimes, on the first page of the respectful thread.
Please learn to read through the threads, at least the last few pages of it. All your answers are there.
If you can’t find the time to read through the threads, then don’t bother with Viper. You’re not gonna have the time to get anywhere decent with her.

Hey lainy, i just have a few questions for you
how do you do seismo cancels easily? and FFF?
whats her learning curve?
also what about instant bks?
oh dont forget devil jin, damn that guy was patient enough to write novels and was extremely helpful to new viper players.
Totally escaped my mind. >_< DJ may be playing Ibuki atm, but he’ll forever be a Viper player in my heart.
it was because of him and his posts that got me through that dreaded first 6-8 months with her!

Hey fellow Viper players. Just to let you know I have a whole new, even higher respect for you guys. I’ve been working on my FFF combo now for about 30 minutes now and it is ridiculously hard O___O Well its the first time attempting it so hopefully it comes easier as time comes. I’ve done the glorious combo four times with ex seismo>burn kick>ultra, and only once from ex seismo>tk>ultra. Just to clear things up, how necessary is it that I learn this? Without the FFF combo(j.rh>fierce>ex seismo>sjc>bk>ultra) I get 579 damage. The sexy ass FFF combo(j.rh>fierce>ex seismo>sjc>bk>ultra) gives me 584 damage. Big fuckin’ woop 5 more damage. I’m not getting the big picture here. All this practicing a super high technique for only 5 more damage? A chip seismo probably does more damage…
Although I have to say it is super rewarding landing a FFF combo, its just not worth it in my eyes (as of right now).
tl;dr version:
- Is FFF worth learning over 5 damage points?
- What technique should I learn first? SJC(seismo chains, meterless fadc) or FFF?
FFF 1st, then seismo chain and meterless fadc at the same time, since the timeing is the same, you just press focus attack instead of punch for the fadc cancel.

Just to clear this up, I want to negative edge the fierce thunder knuckle feint…right?

FFF, exsh, sjc bk is your max damage combo without ultra. Mandatory to make those dp-happy players thinking twice before mashing during your pressure.
(btw if you really want to optimize thing, you’ll replace sjc bk with sjc fadc sweep. It adds a lot of stun and gives an untechable knockdown)

You mean negative edge the hp tk itself, as you cannot neg edge feints.
To each his own way. I don’t negative edge it, as :qcb::hp: comes naturally from using hp tk to cancel other normals.
you dont need to negative edge anything, just practice. All the feint cancels must be done when the normals hit the opponent. Just get used to feinting with each normal, learn the different timings. Then when u do FFF, it’ll just feel like doing 2 feints back to back.
Vs. Guy
please someone advise me on how the guy matchup is meant to be played.
i am so poor vs. guy its ridiculous. all of his movement arc’s and shit mess me over horribly.
this is driving me mental, cheers.

Is the Non-EX Thunder Knuckle cancellable in SF4?
I know it’s cancellable in SSF4, but I’ve been trying to cancel the non EX in SF4 (PC version) for the last few days, and wasn’t able to do it even once.
Of course it is.
Maybe your trying to cancel a fierce tk which you have to do really fast, try feinting a lp.tk. Maybe your buttons are messed up cause their’s no reason for her not to be able to feint a tk.
Hey guys,
I’m working on cr. mp>sjc>ultra 1, and right now I understand what I should be doing and why it works, but I can’t seem to put my finger on exactly what’s keeping me from landing it. I know that you can’t rush the motion so I take my sweet time so that the super jump cancels, but when I try it in training mode, it just gets blocked. I try and speed it up a bit and, as expected, I just get the super or an ex seismo. I tried to break everything down by just doing the cr. mp and the motion just to see when the sj comes out, but it comes out too late to even think about canceling, and even just slightly altering the motions to give me a better idea of when the super jump comes out only works like a couple times and then I keep screwing up.
So exactly what am I doing wrong? Is it just that the timing is really strict? Please don’t flame me.
Edit: Never mind. It was the same issue I was having with the Seismic chains. I’m just not doing the motion fast enough after the first hit connects. Back to practice
So sometimes I choose to cross up Ken with Bk,but sometimes I get beat by auto-correct LpDp or EXDP.Is it just me or is Kens DP just that good?I’ve even tried beating him in the air with Hk into Crossup BK and still get beaten out by LpDp LOL.Any tips?
