Today was not good so many characters have so many more options against C. Viper. Her Anti-Air tk if it does not hit clean she always gets gimped on the trade. In theory you would think that she has some a crazy mixup of high low with seismic toss but in reality this is not true. if a opponent is crouching you literally almost lost all form of mixup. they can focus attack right rough burning kick and any jump in you decided to out. Literally saying your going to take this rape. Ryu can turtle his ass off literally can fight from full screen forcing you to approach ounce he gets a life lead. So you gotta think hey I’ll just sj over there and go ape shit and hope he does not have a ultra or knocks me right out of the air with his shoyruken. Which has invisibility frames.

Zangief is like i am going to grab you if you want to Jump your going to get ultra. if you want to jump in I am going to Laira which i swear beats EVERYTHING. The Anti-cheeks move. 2 combos it’s like your dead.

Guile just slowly walks you into a corner anything that touches you goes into a flash kick for a good chunk of your life and don’t let him have a ultra or bad things happen. Not to mention if you thought about jumping just forget that you have a up button.

I know I am not the best players but there was times where it was like I could not even move because I am sitting there blocking cross ups shenagans grabs and trying to miss a link because that’s a ultra. When I play C.Viper I feel like you gotta be aggressive and not miss anything. Her damage out put is like in spirts like while the ball is rolling keep it going because when it stops your losing 1/2 life because you went for he cross up and ryu option selected focus dash cancel ultra.

Does she not have any invisible moves? Also I don’t know if this is more or what if someone could confirm this it would be nice. When try to link c.lk.,st.lk,c.mp. mp tk at max range it seems like it does not link like it does up close it just will not miss from a distance i swear it miss’s again this could just be me but it seems like it is not as guaranteed as it is up close. like it has to be within a certain range for effectiveness. A friend of mine also told me about j.hk, st.mp, c.mp, mp tk those are my two combos really.

But by far the most effective one in my game play by far is firece tk, fierce tk as a anti-air. I understand the sesomic toss is suppose to be mixed in for the cancel for mind games but its like people are empty jumping and straight or walk out pf range or closer to beat the range.

This chick is so frustrating but I want to play her still… For the amount of time i put in practice to just be able to do these combos at some type of rate it 's like i feel like it should be worth more.

if i do: cr.mp xx mp tk feint > cr.mk

will the cr.mk be beat out by 3 frame normals ? like if someone is crouch teching and has a 3 frame cr.lk

If you use sweep instead, that will grant you an untechable knockdown and this is what you want to set up them up for more mix-up/jump-in opportunities. Plenty of Vipers do this too, combined with SJC FADCing. Using close st.hk isn’t really desirable.

Regarding trades, you can make yourself not lose out on trades by dashing and following up with HP TK, depending on the height on the opponent in the air. You can also trade>SJ BK, but this is a bit harder.

Yeah, that string won’t work at max range, you need to be closer. And Viper has poor reversals that start up quite slowly, so a good amount of the time, you’ll be blocking and teching(I’m lazy when it comes to this lol.)

There’s also a video of Momochi playing viper floating around if you look for it. It’s pretty a pretty nice example of how i think she should be played and is what i’m currently trying to model my play to resemble.

C vipers range is pretty short so how is she really approaching people and getting in Jumpins are pretty much dead since everyone’s anti-air is rape.

Is there really an applicable situation where we should be using EX Knuckle? It just seems like just useless unsafe move. Sure, we can use it after a focus crumple, but why use it over something else? Am I missing something? Is it actually a great move?

Maybe an OS for teleporters. Might not work for Akuma though.

If I’m feeling myself I’ll use EX knuckle to catch jump back fierce from strechy characters or jump back fireball/kunai from akuma/ibuki. you rarely get a juggle after though.

ex tk can be option selected from crossups to catch invincible, forward moving reversals such as ex messiah.

it works really well against Akuma.
