The command I use is a 1080 from down with the MP to up forward + 3P for ultra during the animation. It’s kind of like Zangief’s standing 720, but cooler and way more likely to get you the ladies.

I usually hit confirm with cr.lk st.lk cr.mp sjc ultra.

In training room, stand right next to the dummy. Then just input, in one motion:

:d::mp::df::r::uf::qcf: :3p:

The trick is to roll the cr.mp into the qcfuf without hesitating the qcfuf. Do not delay the cr.mp. Don’t do it too fast either, otherwise a super will come out. Too slow, you’ll get a super jump. If done correctly, you can sort of see viper do a hitch as she cancels the first few frames of the super jump into the ultra.

Ok here is the situation I have always wanted to play c.viper but alot of people tell me she has hard combos, low life, mid tier and for the same amount of effort I could get good with someone else. However I don’t care I am bad at the game anyway. I have also heard she is not newcomer friendly. Hopefully maybe someone would have some insight. What combos should I be learning first bnb’s ? Trail mode was pretty redicoulus.

seismo in bk

We’re all masochists for wanting to play this chick. She can be kind of difficult to learn but look at it this way there’s always something for you to be learning about her. For me, her low life, high execution not the best out the box style was gold for me because i want to get better as a player and she has many aspects that’ll help me develop my overall sense of offense, defense, timing and execution.

Things you should learn. The 1st part is basic for her poke/counter poke game, the seismo is distance poking, and the second part is punishes because if you don’t punish hard whenever the opportunity arises, it will come back to bite you.

cr. MP/MK-> MP Thunder Knuckle
cr. MP/MK-> HP Thunder Knuckle Feint
cr. LK-> st. LK-> cr. MP
Seismo-> Burn Kick

cr. HP-> MP Thunder Knuckle
cr. FP-> Ex Seismo-> Burn Kick

haha i looked masochists up so true. You can’t in your right mind know that this will cause pain and suffering and still want to do it :).

Practice mode here i come :smiley:

cr. MP/MK-> MP Thunder Knuckle
cr. MP/MK-> HP Thunder Knuckle Feint
cr. LK-> st. LK-> cr. MP
Seismo-> Burn Kick

cr. HP-> MP Thunder Knuckle
cr. FP-> Ex Seismo-> Burn Kick

if anyone has any input please add.

Where would I go to find any Vipers on XBL? I have a tournament tommorow and there’s a good Viper I need to fight with my Guy.

I’m Mayu9999@XBL

Help would be appreciated.

cr. LK-> st. LK-> cr. MP
Seismo-> Burn Kick I can’t get the seismo to connect

Those are two different combos. You can’t link the two.

  1. cr.lk st.lk cr.mp -> mptk
  2. seismo -> super jump cancel -> burn kick

Ooh that makes so much sense I thought I was just failing on execution. Is there any tips on preforming super jump cancel for the 2nd combo? Also on block any safe Combos ? I have a hard time setting up people to get hit by these things trying to mix it up. Although not mentioned I have added f.bk , Ultra in the Corner and f.tk , f.tk for anti-air combo. How are you guys landing the air super I can’t seem to do it but I can do the ground one with ease.

Easiest way, for me at least, to sjc a seismo is to do:

:r::d::df: (insert punch here, then a slight delay) :qcf::uf::hcb: :hk:

Viper’s only true block strings involve linking her jabs and shorts I believe… Everything else should be considered unsafe. I’ve been mashed out of cr.lk st.lk cr.mp mptk and even st.mp cr.mp mptk, regardless of if I feint the tk… Even fierce feint fierce is unsafe on block. If they block the first fierce and mash out an srk or another similarly fast move, they’ll hit you during the startup of your next fierce. This forces Viper players to really have to mixup their rush down, and if you’re facing a masher, throw in a block every once in awhile to punish them.

Just remember that Viper has some of, if not THE WORST, normals in the game.

Sigh I realized two things today for one I felt I was getting very special happy with my feirce tk normals were not really hitting like that maybe it’s just me I can’t get people to get crossed up or trick people with her people started focus attacking through burning kicks. Her normals were not really doing anything seismic hammer I don’t know how to really incorporate it in my game play. Sjc ultra is becomning quite trouble some I can not do it as willfully as I would like. With this new news of her normals sucking ass what are you guys doing? I am really trying to play this chick despite opposition.

I’m right there with you man. In training room, I can do the most complicated of her stuff about 90%. In a real match, I’m absolutely terrible. I can pull off a fierce feint fierce a match or so, and a sjc ultra every once in awhile, and an ex seismo sjc fadc ultra once in a blue moon, but yeah. It just takes time. Viper is a momentum character and if you don’t have or get the momentum, you’re going to lose.

I’m only good at telling people HOW to do Viper’s moves, not telling them how to actually WIN with Viper :stuck_out_tongue:

Your in a better place than me I feel like I am still mashing ultra’s and moves on a stick I am feeling really predictable everytime I wanna do a combo I start crouching with a kill me sign on my head. Jumping in just means you wanna die in some epic fashion to a fadc ultra. She has no string that like your going to get chipped no matter what. Her ultra have to literally be set up for . I was all happy when I got a fierce tk anti-air thinking ultra like ryu fail. off the overhead what can I follow up with ? Also zangief and Dudley hurt alot. Uppercut to uppercut us taking a quarter it’s like how can I stay on them spamming and praying for hits not effective.

She has a lot of ways to combo into her ultra. I kind of compare her to Rufus in that way, except while Rufus and Viper have a bunch of ways to lead to their ultra, Rufus has a lot more leniency and Viper has to be pretty exact.

Zangiefs you can zone out. A lot of Zangiefs like to jump, so watch for it and nail it with a fierce tk. Dudley does hurt, and his normals are good, so you really just have to wait for an opening; see if there’s a pattern in their approach and maybe ex seismo or ex bk to get out.

Followup after overhead is something I’ve been struggling with. Most Vipers, including myself, instinctively go for a throw after an overhead. I’ve done this so much that my friends all expect it and immediately throw after I overhead. This causes problems, because her normals are so bad, if I don’t backdash, neutral jump, or throw (which would now be a tech), I’m getting thrown. To mix it up, learn to instant burn kick. Do the overhead, and while it is coming out, start “charging down”, do your qcb then uf mk or hk. If they choose to throw, you should now be in the air nailing them with a burn kick, or best case scenario, if they continue to crouch block, it might cross them up. Or after an overhead, try an ex seismo.

Again, take what I say with a grain of salt. I’m a theoretical Viper player. I guarantee if you played me online you’d beat me.

right to the point:

I landed an EX seismo on an opponent in the corner and i was relatively close, i execution failed on my burn kick (damn you online lag -_- ) and what ended up connecting was her cl.st.hk. it all combo’ed and looked clean and i got an untech knockdown for it. just wondering if there is any practical reason to use it in a match. thanks guys

New questions what who would you guys consider the best c. Viper or those worth watching? Also what are you guys doing for poking , zoning and pressure I tried using fierce bk for cross up not working for me. Off a strong tk you can connect a super I can’t do it consistently. I have also been using ultra 1 which is her preferred ultra why and when would I want to choose one over the other?

it wasn’t an untechable knockdown. It was very much a techable knockdown lol

^^ well i guess he just didnt quick rise lol, either way, my question still remains
