since everything is known, does someone mind posting the frame data for feints somewhere easily accessible (shoryuken wiki)? specifically i’d appreciate it if someone would post startup, recovery, window for PP input.
just a quick question about instant super jump burn kicks. Ive been practicing them for a few hours now and I almost have them down pat. Im practicing the one with the lowest trajectory. Those can cross up right? Even with the roundhouse version it seems to not go far enough to cross up(though I could be spacing it wrong). It seems if I wait a little for the jump to come out and then burn kick immediately they go much farther and seem to cross up better.
You sure youre doing instant super jump bks and not just regular jump instant bks? Make sure you see that smoke come out her feet. What kind of spacing are you practicing from?
damn I might be doing regular jump instead of super jump(Which would SUCK). I cant remember if there is smoke at her feet…ill have to check. Thanks for the response.
edit: I just checked and…there is no smoke. So i just wasted like 6 hours. Fuck. Does this mean I wasnt inputing UF fast enough?
Nah for super jump just try to get :db::uf::qcb::k: really quick. Regular jump instant burn kick has its uses too so dont feel bad about practicing it. Most use it for a quick cross-up when right next to someone that is getting up.
Thanks ill get right to practicing that(I tried yesterday and it couldnt get it, but i was using:qcb::uf:). Thanks for the reply
That’s how I do them. You have to speed up the whole motion… then you go from down-back (as part of the QCB) to up-forward so fast it comes out as a super jump. I learned the timing by doing super jump burning kicks using jump back… just go :qcb::ub: and you can figure out the timing of it. Then switch up back to up forwards… there ya go. The hardest part of SJ instant burning kicks is hitting the button for the burning kick.If you hit it too soon, nothing comes out. If you hit it too late, you get a jumping normal and fly across the screen. If you did the motion too slow but you hit the button at the right time, you get a normal again.
The :db::uf::qcb: is not a practical way of doing instant burning kicks in my opinion unless you are incredibly fast… you end up doing them about half height on the screen, you get more horizontal distance, but it will whiff on crouchers and is less ambiguous than a tiger knee BK.
yeah i have been practicing the :db::uf::qcb: motion and its really not working out at ALL. I will try to get quicker with the :qcb::uf: motion. I need to master this so i can move on!
d, uf qcb+K bunr kick should only be used for combos. You get all day to super jump after an seismo so you don’t need to tiger knee to hit a super jump burn kick after a seismo. Though you definitely want to learn how to insta super jump burn kick (qcb,uf+K) when you’re trying to do naked super jump burn kicks. I can do d, uf, qcb+K for burn kicks no problem but the issue is since it’s not an instant cancel like said above you’ll get sloppy super jump burn kicks that won’t cross up right. You can create an instant super jump burn kick with that method but it requires just frame timing and not worth the effort.
yeah i was practicing seismic hammer to burn kick and uf qcb Kick is the way I found easiest. Not for instant sj burn kicks though.
I actually do naked instant sj burn kicks with the d, uf, qcb+K, generally with over 95% success. I’ve had to actually slow down to get them right. Maybe i’m a mutant. I do shit too fast in every game, even GG and Marvel.
yeah i also have a better success rate splitting it up, if i try to do qcb, uf + k i more often than not get a neutral sj to bk. Any tips on how to avoid this? Seem to have trouble consistently getting uf straight after the qcb.
That’s because you don’t really need to do that. The way I like to describe instant SJ burn kicks are more like a 270 command. Basically something like :d::db::l::ub::u::uf: + K. You don’t have to go straight to up forward after qcb because as long as you do the motion quickly and lightly the game is only going to throw the burn kick in the direction that u press kick with. If you fully swing the stick all the way around the upper directionals similar to a 360 it’s more of a natural motion and I find it more consistent since you’re basically considered airborne once you finish the motion any ways.
Oh ok i assumed it had to be done that way cause the game registers the first up for the sj or something, so its the same as the insta bk motion, should be easier then.
thanks deviljin Im still having problems doing it myself, and i cant really understand why unless im not pressing it fast enough. Ill try the 270 motion though and hope for better success.
Oh man Viper seems too complicated at times. I’m trying to incoprorate some new strategies with my girl. One of them being a seismic feint into a super jump burning kick. I’m having a difficult time just doing the super jump after the feint.
I’m pressing :df::df::p: L1 and then :uf: before I can do a quarter circle back and kick, my hand alwaysslips up after than feint.
It just seems too much to do at the time and with the position of my hands very awkward. First is because I have my thumb down on the d-pad, my forefinger on the L1 and then I have to move my thumb to the L3 analog stick and pull down then release upward for the SJ then doing the quarter circle back and kick with the stick. that’s a lot of motions just for a single hit attack.
i also heave similar trouble, but not as bad when trying to do a Mid punch hammer into a heavy burining kick. Most of the time I jump backwards, or I do a bk backwards.
Hope this is the right thread to ask this…

i need help with sjc ultra for viper i mastered pretty much everything for viper except that move the timing for that is hard annd i dont no how to practice it i put my inputs on and i see my motions but i dont no whats the right inputs i should do and how it should come out i hear this move is really useful in a tight situation cus if you land a light kick its ultra city for the other guy.
There are multiple ways to land this and if you look back in the hard trial thread the methods are listed. One of the simple methods is to do a 360 starting from down then clockwise from there. Also, it’s easier to buffer it in after c.mp/c.mk since there’s more hit stun then from c.lk but you if you are landing s/c.lk you can combo into c.mp easily and SJC into Ultra.
