Well I think he’s talking about using the LP knuckle to hit Bison should he try for a flying HP mix up after the stomp. Of course using the LP knuckle to try and beat the stomp itself would be murder.
That will definitely be interesting to try. I don’t know how many times I try to HP TK for the flying HP after the stomp, but he went past me so I got an HP seismo instead >_>
Just something quick to add. I was playing my friends Akuma and I did the j.mp to air ex bk, he blocked the first hit, the first few hits of the spin, then the bk popped over him to cross him up. Amazingly, he blocked that too lol.
And Im PRETTY sure everyone knew this already, but for those that dont know, when using hp tk feint if you hit any other button with “plink” or piano style quickness, youll get the move that should correspond to the qcb motion. In other words if you do qcb+hp, PP, k in super quick succession this will result in a hp tk feint and immediately will go into a burning kick. This also works to go into a different tk after the feint.
Extremely interesting, now how do we put it to use
So basically if you do qcb+hp, PP, lp/mp, PP you’ll get two super fast feints?
Quick question, when a TK feint is done, during the feint, is viper really crouching and can it used to evade an air hit? I think i’ve seen it but i’m not entirely sure…just asking to confirm.
She can go under Sagat’s high tiger shot with it. She basically gets put into a crouching position for a split second so whatever you would crouch under normally you’ll also be able to with a TK feint. c.MK is a better move for making yourself “go under” attacks. Especially a lot of shoto or Sagat’s jumping attacks. You’ll see a lot of high level players use c.MK to go under Sagat’s j.HK or tiger shots since it makes you almost unhittable from a jumping position (lower than a crouch) and then you can recovery and throw them or combo them.
Is there another way from going c.MK to feint? I always end up doing BK due to negative edge. =/ Its really annoying.
Yeah, that annoys me too. I don’t really think there’s a trick though, just make sure you tap the mk button once and make your finger/thumb isn’t on it afterwards.
Okay I think I found something really weird. Against Dhalsim (and maybe a lot of chars) if you do
stand hp > hjc > ultra
The Ultra won’t connect because Dhalsim is considered being in the air ( both his feet are off the ground when Viper smashes the ground )
Yea i just tested it… Interesting find.
Currently checking to see if it doesn’t connect with other chars and so far, it doesn’t connect with Honda either.
EDIT: Nor Sagat or Zangief. Couldn’t check the rest of chars that are in the bottom half. had to go :x
I tested on Honda, Sagat ang Gief, connected everytime, maybe you did it too slow. Only Dhalsim flies in the air.
Yeah don’t mess with standing or c.HP to Ultra. s.HP puts some characters in an airborne stun and c.HP usually pushes back too far away. For me I’ve just been using close s.MP, c.MP to Ultra or just straight c.MK to Ultra. There’s enough time to confirm c.MK if you get a jump in attack first. If you know the person is going to attack in front of you you can look for the counter hit and that should make it a free Ultra as well. I like catching people in resets and then getting on the other side of them and hitting c.MK and verifying it into Ultra.
You must have mad reflexes man…Only now I started to fool around with Viper’s reset game, and I’m a little disappointed that I haven’t really played with it earlier. I can rarely get c.MK to Ultra, simply because I can’t react fast enough when it confirms…
The only character who goes into airbone stun when hit by Viper’s st.hp is Dhalsim. Others weight more than 80 lbs ahah.
I wonder if you could fff > hjc > ultra I guess not, however cr.HP is not bad XzlP8sxfbJY#t=1m25s"]to punish upclose, cr.mk is really good but won’t work .
Confirming on cr.mk is sick.
I feel pretty scrubby saying this, but :r::hk: is so very nice in some match ups. I did not use to use her normals as pokes…ever, but I’ve started to with :r::hk:, and I have to say it’s making my sparring partner very upset. XD Very nice in the Rufus match up, and a life saver in the Bison match up. f+rh and neutral jump rh stuff so much shit in the Bison match up, though you have to be pretty anticipatory for it to work. My friend and I have so much inbred fighting going on that I can do that pretty well, though. I don’t know, it’s just something I wanted to make mention of.
Man, fuck you  That’s all I gotta say. And your signature doesn’t have any accidental EX Feints which is false advertisement on your behalf.
But fHK is solid against Rufus’ Tornado and Dictator’s Scissor Kicks if I’m trying to catch you from certain ranges, yeah. Good thing you never canceled the first hit into anything
The startup is 12f though so you’ve got to be pretty sure about what the opponent is going to do from midrange if you’re going to try and intercept them.
what would be good moves to practice in training mode. i cant get that ex seismo -> sj -> BK down ;(
Well obviously that would be good since it’s a very common bnb for Viper and you can’t do it.
Along with that practice close range ex seismo, sjc’ed mp tk. It does more damage and stun than air bk, but definitely still learn air bk because the mp tk can only be done from close range.
Low trajectory bks. A range to practice from is just outside poke range. Like get to near max range for cr mp. Hit them with a cr mp and see where they end up. Practice sj bks that hit them on the back from there.
Other various bnb combos.
All the common ultra setups if you don’t have those down yet.
Close range ex seismo - ultra
AA HP TK - ultra
AA HP TK trade - dash forward ultra
Cornered seismo, sj bk, ultra
FFF and the various combos it works in
Fierce, feint, cr mk xx mp tk for the times you don’t have meter
Feints of all kinds - stuff like cr mp xx hp tk feint or cr mk… then work on whatever shenanigans you want to follow up with. Stuff like cr mk xx hp tk feint, dash forward lk bk or throw, or do another cr mk xx mp tk … etc
HP TK, fadc if you can’t already do that
That’s all stuff I have worked on and still do in training mode. SJC FADC I still don’t have down. You can work on that too, but other things are more important right now if you can’t sj bk yet.
