Why doesn’t this thread have a sticky, it should be at the top of the viper thread list this thread=gdlk
a lil late but this thread has helped me immensely in picking up such a multi faceted character like viper. thanks alot to the OP for such a complete guide.
I Agree. This should get stickied. Probably one of the best guides i have seen.
This thread has been stickied in my heart ever since subzero started it
Best guide on shoryuken so far! : D good job!
Great thread. If it’s possible, could you use more command symbols for the complicated sjc and feint combos? I need them for a reference when I’m in the training room. Any additional shortcuts would be helpful.
naw no shortcuts, just practice, practice, practice. Something most people don’t want to do anymore.
While the information here looks great and I look forward to using it, is there a place where I can quickly get the rundown on Viper on a basic level?
she plays like any other character on a basic level. You poke with with cr strong, cr forward, cr fp for the most part, learn your punishes, and bait ppl to jump at you by scaring them with seismo feints.
Alright. Looks like I’ll start looking into the good stuff soon then.
Thanks.
This!
No matter who you are, if you are going to play Viper seriously, you need to spend A LOT of time practicing. And I do mean a lot.
viper’s LP TK can beat EX psycho crusher CLEAN if meaty and count as counter hit. thanks to latif for doing that shit on the stream
Got a link to that archived stream bro?
I posted that in the bison section day 1…:china:
bump for new players.
Did I ever say you’re awesome?
You’re awesome.
This thread is amazing</bump>
Thanks guys, been in the lab a bit lately, hopefully gonna get some new material on some less explored matches. Adon and Guy for sure.
That would be really helpful I’m completely oblivious to the Adon match.
As for Guy you can OS block his run making it completely useless just block low then high, also for his elbow drop move(where he spins in the air and either grabs you if your mid-air or drop’s straight down with an elbow) you can do st.Mk to beat it and stop his pressure.
Thank you very much for putting this together. I’ve spent some time studying the fundamentals of the game with Ryu and I decided to move on to Viper now. It’s great to have all this info in one place. Now all that’s left is several months’ worth of practice .
Side Note: After spending time learning the basics in Ryu, the first time I took Viper in to training mode I found myself saying “Wow, her normals really do suck” lol. It’s not like I never played with her before, but after learning more about the game it became glaringly obvious. I had a “What am I getting myself into?” moment and now I do have an even higher respect for Viper players.
