Yup thats exactly why. I dunno why but I hate that method.

Well, I know that for Sakura’s:

SRK xx ex focus, st.HP combos

doing SRK, fwd, fwd + focus, lets you dash out of the FA on the first possible frame, making the combo possible. This could make the follow ups after the meterless FADC easier.

Could be why the ex.seismo > meterless FADC > c.HK link feels easier at times.

I tried the super jump first, then just dash out for the meterless fadc. This feels so weird. After chaining seismo’s for 5 years, meterless fadc is literally the same motion, just feels weird doing it any other way, but it definitely works very consistently. To each his own.

Yea each his own. I just cant do it the shortcut way it feels so awkward and I always do it too late. I do however seismo chain with the tiger knee motion.

Just picked up Viper yesterday. I always wanted to play her but her execution scared me but I decided to give her a go. Im learning how to do the FFF. I could do ST.Fierce xx TK Feint but after the feint the Cr.Heavy never comes out. Its always EX. Seismo. I also tried doing it with just the fierce button instead of Cr.M+H but still the same problem. Any tips on what im doing wrong? Also if I do get the Cr.Fierce do come out it get’s blocked. I guess that’s because im doing it to slow?

Sounds like me you"re probably holding the 2 punches for the feint too long.

Yeah I was thinking that too. I started to do the Cr.Fierce with down instead of down forward because that’s the only way it comes out…just gotta keep practicing though and hopefully I’ll get it right.

Looks like you’re trying to do everything at the same time and you’re mixing it up. It’s not as fast as it looks.
Try to focus first on doing: cr.HP/st.HP > HP.Thunder Knuckle Feint. Do it like 10 times in a row for each side and turn your input display on to see if your motions are correct.
Get confortable with this part first and the rest is gonna be easy.

Took your advice and yeah it was me pressing Cr.HP too fast. Now im able to do it consistently on the left side but I need to work on the right side now. Thanks

Any tips on mp/mk tk cancel cross up burn kick

If you’re talking about super jump burn kick cancel then just practice. All your doing is canceling your super jump as soon as possible by inputting the burn kick itself.

A good way to see the timing is to do it once you see the smoke from her boots. Once you get used to it you’ll never need to use that visual anymore. Just remember to never hold a direction because if you do you’ll practices get an instant burn kick instead of a super jump burnkick. Practice practice practice.

you’re doing the input for the FP after the feint too quickly, you’re not allowing the FP time to come out, thus by passing it straight to the ex seismo input, slow it down a bit, the combo isnt as fast as it just has a lot of inputs.

i’m 99% positive this is the issue, i’ve had it happen in the past.

oops see you got it and i’m late as shit, haven’t played in a while, but yeah, this is the more detailed version? that makes me feel better anyway.

Thanks for the assist still lol. I have FFF down but still not 100%. Its around 65% 70%.

Hey everyone im new to viper and i wanted to know if there is a guide or tips on how to execute FFF properly?

To be honest its just a few easy steps

-do standing or crouch hard punch aand cancel into hard punch tk

-once that’s easy press 2 punches when you see a flash while holding down (holding down makes next part easier)

  • do crouch hard punch immediately after you feinted.

if you can hp xx feint easily then fff is no problem

what are some of the need to know things in order to play viper effectively?

  • learn fierce feint fierce.

-use fierce feint when canceling tks for more frame advantage

  • learn how to instant burn kick

-learn how to super jump burn kick

Pretty much execution, frame traps, her bk mixups and much more. I suggest checking out sll of floors viper guides via his videos.

I’m new to SF4 in general and want to play Viper. I heard she’s not beginner friendly but that she’s mostly execution, which I can handle coming from Marvel and GG. What are some good set ups to use for Oki once you have your opponent cornered, and what are the usual safe jump set ups to use? Between all the different versions of SF4 it’s been hard to locate up to date set ups.

If you are new to SF4, I would suggest learning Ryu first. SF4 neutral game is a lot different from Marvel and Guilty Gear and playing Viper from the start makes it more difficult to go to other characters (except the execution barrier).

A starting point for Viper would be watching the tut:

Also check out the first post of the video thread (it’s sticky-ed). Best of luck! Viper is a lot of fun to play.

The tut has an Oki vid and safe jump vid.

For the tut, I generally add notations to the vids when a new version changes something. That, and I usually post a tut explaining the changes, to stay up-to-date. (There’s usually a link in the annotations to the changes tut)
