Not sure, but I’ve used his assist with her before you can just dp sjc. into HS land MHS depending on the amount of hitstun and the right timing.
You can omit the burn kick and just go straight into launcher if nothing else is working.
Can anyone break down Viper’s raw tag combo potential for me? What are the typical setups?
You can do 236H~S into staircase-loop from a raw tag, I don’t think there are “typical setups” or anything. You can do stuff like wallbounce into tag (eg with vergil: 6H,214M, 214AB, tag) but that’s nothing for actual matches unless you really want to be fancy. If you’re talking stuff where the tag doesn’t actually hit, like tagging her in on a groundbounced enemy, you’ll need EX-seismo after most combos to even get anything out of it.
is it worth it to learn stair kick loops midscreen or should i just keep it for corner?
Yes it is. Just got to know when to do them.
question from a potential viper user: is it true that assists extend her combos by a lot? i.e. i heard marlin dropped magneto for doom solely because doom beam allows viper to extend her bnb (whereas disruptor assist doesn’t cause knockdown anymore). approximately how much more damage can viper do by having such an assist?
the team i had in mind was magneto/viper/sentinel because like mags, viper has godly high-lows that make for easy mixups when drones are locking them down. but if the assist thing is true, then i wouldn’t have a very strong viper bnb.
Im trying to break 800k easily and reliably midscreen with viper using taskmaster H arrows and Spencers slant grabble. Having a hard time.

Here is a video I made a while back. Even though I use Strider assists in combos you can clearly see before I make it there I use Task arrows to round up around 700-800k. Sometimes before using a hyper meter. The only reason I used Task arrows in the first place was because it opens up her BK neutral game so much. Since her BK’s are so unsafe its actually surprising the different ways you can use task arrows to create 50/50 left/right overhead mix-ups. 17 frame jumping heavy BK? fuck yes.
Its true. I’m sure you can still pull off some different BnB’s with mag’s assists if used creatively. The thing about Viper is her BnB’s aren’t set in stone. She has so many tools that you can find a use for almost ANY assist in the game combo wise. It’s pretty insane that she can have so many different varying BnB’s that still rack up around 1mil off of one hyper used. Combos should be the second thing you worry about with Viper, because Viper can rock 1mil with most different assists in the game some how. The biggest thing is finding assists that help her neutral game. She has a great neutral game already but the different assists allow her to do some outrageous things.
Creativity. Build that Tech.
What’s “Stair Kick Loop”?
Well I’m still working on my Viper/Trish/Vergil Team is this is what I came up with based off what Ive seen in this thread. I started out with taking things slow and easy and now I just learned the stair kick loop (I think that’s what it’s called). This was my first bnb but it only works mid to corner because that’s the only way vergil assist will hit. You need 1 bar to start off the combo but you get about 80% of the bar back.

I finally decided to record some combos of my team, Viper/Captain America/Sentinel. Figured I’d post the video since I don’t see much on my team and to get some opinions on the combos

I also recorded a combo using Akuma assist, just need to find a replacement for Cap.

So I got bored last night and found a combo using Zero’s Ryuenjin Assist, and figured this could use its own post.

I apologize for the terrible camera angle. But I wanted to put this up as soon as possible since I haven’t seen it before and wanted Zero/Viper players to know about it.

Damage:
DHC to Rekkoha: 1,090,000
No DHC: 910,000 (~80-85% meter positive)
Tested and works with Sougenmu active (forgot to record and note damage)
Also works with Wolverine’s Tornado Claw assist, with minor adjustments.
I believe it works with Vergil’s Rising Sun assist, and could possibly work with other DP assists, just haven’t gotten around to fully test it.
Friend from xbox live directed me to this combo video.

There’s a whole bunch of tech in here I haven’t seen before, which is especially strange considering that the video is from several months ago. One combo in here uses some crazy shenanigans involving H.TK that allowed him to get 825K solo (read: no assists) in one combo using a single bar of meter. o_O
Did I see… Viper doing Rom?
That was a great video, lots of stuff I hadn’t thought or seen before.
Maybe new tech I noticed that you can do the siesmo after the H thunder knuckle and stair case it down instead of just the thunder knuckle.
Why is this a bad option because i dont see anybody do it?
This is my point. This stuff is apparently old, but it looks great. I can’t figure out why we haven’t heard of it before.

Damn. I just lost a lot of interest. He was using EX.BK for dat ROM. -_-
