C Viper - Combo Thread

I have a ridiculously high damage combo that has no use that I came up with yesterday, it’s not fully optimized but I think once it is I should break 2.4 million with it.

what is this step kick loop you guys are referring to? I cant find it on the first page.

This is a rough… ugly video I made a few months ago on the step kick loop. It’s me just messing around with the timing. Your real application for the move will be found 2:30 into the video. Its most used after a heavy TK feint

Edit: This is VERY useful and allows you not to use EX.BK and waste meter. Plus it does more damage anyways so why not? It takes some fiddling and getting use to but its well worth it in the long run. Save meter, do more damage, get more meter. Simple as that. Plus it doesn’t completely screw over your hit stun deterioration like EX.BK does.

I can get it about 95% online now which IMO is spectacular with the constant freezes and quarter second to half second button lag in this crappy net code.

^ thanks man, i will go work on that, i love execution based stuff =]

Nice stuff, will this work off a Jam Session assist? Hate having to burn that meter for EX.BK to combo off a Jam Session…

This does work with Jam Session and this is actually where most of my staircase loops come from. Just another reason why Jam Session is batshit crazy with Viper.

Haha, yeah. I just asked that in my last post, and it’s exactly what was recommended to me. I need to get practicing. <.<

Yeah it works great with Jam session. I use it mostly to pull people who just constantly SJ down from the sky and more importantly its a good alternative to the focus attack level 3 setup on characters who are just coming in or snapped in if they get hit by the lockdown assist.

Gawd this bring back bad memories, I swear I spent about a 4 hours everyday for a week just practicing this after an air to air hit confirm, I am now short 1 controller lol

Don’t get me wrong though this combo is awesome but the consistency of it for me was horrible, maybe I just needed to practice it more. However I am now able to consistently do it after a H.TK but only in training mode, mainly because the only way I know how to start is with a naked H.TK, which I never do in online matches. Are there other ways to start this loop? I’d really like to know so I can start applying to my game.

You can do it off of any seismo instead of box dash as an alternative. Does same damage as a box dash + 1 heavy hit.

Got bored and made this combo a while back. Never really tried marlinpie like combos before hand. This one has a bit more finesse to it though. You can do one loop off of a seismo or heavy TK feint if you have problems doing 2 stair kicks.

I’m having a lot of trouble getting the j.B after the feint. Do I have to be really precise with how high the opponent is when I hit him?

Not particularly, you could leave out the jB, it’s not a big loss to leave out one or two jB’s.

Here’s a standard BnB combo with my team utilizing 1 assist and 2 meters. Nothing mind blowing about this combo, it builds about 3.75 bars and does 1.1~ millionish before the DHC, and after the DHC into million dollars it does around 1.3~ millionish damage. Its important to note that this combo will most likely not work in ultimate because of cold star/HTK nerfs, I’ll play around with it more when I get my hands on ultimate. I cut the infinite short because wesker falls similar to she hulk, so its a lot harder to get more consistent reps on him, although if I had done one more rep the damage would have been around 1.3~ millionish pre DHC. Leave me some constructive criticism if you know ways to squeeze more damage out before or after the hard knockdown!

Edit: Please excuse the shitty quality, I don’t own a computer or anything like that to edit videos (I’m using a public library computer right now). Lucky my friend was nice enough to record this on his phone and upload it to YouTube for me.

So, as far as starting a basic combo off the ground is concerned, is it basically just an alternative to the box dash? Or could I possibly do it after a basic box dash into launch? Like, after the relaunch > reground > seismo > this? Or would hitstun deterioration be too strong?

Just an alternative to the box dash. There are a few different ways you can do it. The one showed in the video is the maximum damage for that type of seismo air chain back to the ground. As far as box dashes go there are two more you can use to spruce up your combo and add a bit more damage. The one I use is IADF jH jS + bk/feint jH jS (land) or you can do it the Chrisis way which is seismo IADF jH BK/feint jH jS (land) The rule I’ve figured out with magneto for the magneto assist relaunch is no more than 1 seismo before the relaunch (this excludes the seismo relaunch itself. So its good to get as much damage in before your seismo relaunch, because then it comes down to j.H double jump j.H j.S when you’re in the air a second time. If you do use two seismo’s or extend it too long you will whiff the j.S to ground them and finish off the combo. So that means only 1 box dash. If you do it early enough you can get up to 3 bk/feints within a combo. If you try it after the relaunch then no go.

Was giving it a shot. I can do it the Chrisis way, but the other just seems impossible to me.

I also now understand why Chrisis goes straight into S after the BK in the assist relaunch. I always did HS, but the HSD (Hit Stun Deterioration… Why the hell didn’t someone decide to acronym this earlier? I’m sick and tired of typing it out) is too strong for the S to connect.

Always do the best possible combo that is stable. Viper has alot of neat combo’s like the infinite and TK feints that are awesome but stupidly difficult to rely on, even if you know how to do them.

Ok I just watched a crapload of Marlinpie matches from seasons beatings and man he has plethora of new technology, sick stuff.

But what I wanna ask you guys is, If you saw the match of Marlinpie Vs. F.Champ in the West coast vs East Coast sets. Marlin did some godlike seismo loop in the corner to take away the last breaths of magneto to win the match.

Does anyone know how to do this? He does it too fast for me to see exactly what he’s doing but it looks as simple as doing a seismo, superjumping and then immediately dashing back down into another seismo. I tried this in training mode but I cant get it to work. Here’s the link if anyone wants to know what I’m talking about.

Pretty sure he’s doing EXseismo then does the first hit of S and repeats until Magneto is dead. If you look at his bar you can see its going down. Viper can just keep doing that I think as long as she has the meter.

lol my analyzing skills suck, I just saw one seismo come out of the ground and assumed it was just a normal one. Thanks, but now that I know it’s EX seismo I don’t see much use for it other than styling.
