I notice that relaunch timing with Plasma beam is very finicky, Doom’s beam is faster in Ultimate so hopefully it helps Viper relaunch easier
Leaving out the BK and just doing the FADC smoothes it right out.
I mean due to how slow the start-up on plasma beam it makes it hard to hit in time
but than again, I play Viper online… Everything is hard to hit in time
Oh… with Unibeam and Plasma Beam I always feel like I have to the Seismo sooner than it looks like I should, if that makes any sense.
Once you learn the timing it becomes pretty easy to do even when your online.
compare to magneto relaunch… not so much
Thanks guys…so it sounds like with doom assist I should:
Starter, box loop, launch, land, call doom, seismo, (beam hits), 2147L or FADC, launch, ender. OK but I can’t seem to get the plasma beam to connect before the seismo knocks up to high. Which is more reliable between box dash loop x2 into plasma beam relaunch or box dash loop x1 into launch, land, seismo OTG plasma beam relaunch?
you can do both relaunches. it all depends on what you’re doing for your double jump combos. if you’re doing 2 reps of box dash use H dj H S on the first and second launches. with one rep you can do MMH dj MHS on the first launch and H dj H S on the second. if you’re midscreen, it’s probably better to do two reps of box dash as it wall carries better.
I often have this same problem, and it’s a really simple fix: Wait longer to do the seismo.
Us Viper mains are so used to high-execution combo crap, but the reality here is that it will only work if you do it at a casual pace. Like, when I struggle at all to get the seismo in after calling assist, I end up doing what you did. But if I chill and just input it when my fingers feel comfortable to do so (I use pad), it comes out fine.
For my Viper BnB I’ve been trying cr. cr.:h: :dp::l: IAD j.:h: j.:s: st. st.:h: st.:s: j:m: j. j.:h: double jump j. j.:h: j.:s: this part is what confuses me. I play Viper/Dante/Magneto, but am I supposed to :a2: :dp::l: tiger knee :qcb::h: here? Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. What determines if it works or not because I can’t really see it. Also is there a better combo than this?
*Note: A2 being EM Disruptor
when they land, call doom, PP dash, seismo sjc BK. the dash gives you the delay you need.
It’s better to do TK Light BK rather than heavy, but really, it’s just a timing thing. Keep practicing, you could also try the FADC version L Seismo>FADC>S it does slightly less damage, but maybe you’ll find it easier.
I do that just by using Focus Attack after Seismo right? Or do I have to super jump cancel the Seismo first?
You gotta Jump cancel it. You don’t actually need to do a super jump to do it in this game.
Yeah I’m just used to calling it that, sorry lol. Ibuki habit.
Yeah it’s mostly timing, but make sure you tiger knee/jump cancel into H BK as fast as possible. That may be the issue.
Doing the Light TK BK makes the whole thing easier.
Does it? I found it easier to do heavy. The larger hitbox means you have more time between when they fall into range and when they pop out of hitstun.
Light version recovers faster in the air.
Heavy version recovers faster on the ground.
Your using an assist so startup is irrelevant.
But… you’re not leaving the ground. You’re jump canceling into BK, not jump canceling into an actual jump, and then into BK.
