If you play just to have fun, why do you feel the need to disconnect from the tougher matches? Just take the loss and move on.

Oh sure, everyone but just you are not allowed.
Damn you Sagat. I see you made an account for that one post!
Anyway, I usually create 3 win matches. It takes like 5-6 minutes to just give up the game jufo. That’s a lot of time loading and crap. I expect the network to get a character with similar stats but sometimes it gives me an A or B+. I think A+ once.
What’s wrong with disconnecting from a fight you don’t want to participate in?

- You don’t have anything on the line! Your points are not heavily at risk by playing higher ranks, theirs are! You should be trying to play as many games as possible with higher level players because it’s A. Better learning, B. More fun and exhilarating (when you make adaptations… provided you take it the right way)
This.
I was randomly going through players in Ranked yesterday and I came across a 3000 PP Several thousand BP Gen.
I looked at the screen and was like…this is going to suck. I’ve literally never beaten a Gen worth anything with my Ken. And he did demolish me and after it was over I was like, I’m not playing that guy again, fuck that.
But he was the only person online that i could find at the time so I made myself do it and I noticed the match was closer even though he ended with a perfect. So I was like, “How many times am I going to find a Gen this good online?” and just went with it for a couple more matches. Shit just kept getting closer and closer, and I eventually won, and not through randomness or dumb knockdown gambling but just through playing a ground game, blocking, and making reads. I then stopped playing, which I probably shouldn’t do, but I was so happy.
Trust me, it’s very rewarding when you can finally crack that one player.
The whole point of the game for us is playing the game, trying to look good while doing so and most importantly learning from our mistakes, which involves training hard, taking losses and acknowledging our opponents skills.
Considering the fact that our opponents are the one and only source of our own improvement and enjoyment of the game, it’s important to respect them.
By disconnecting from a game not only do you deny the fact that you’ve lost and thus don’t learn shit, you also took the satisfaction of your opponent of reaping his rewards for all the hard work he put into the game.
Basically you’re the equivalent of those 7 year old fuck faces that come to your children birthday party, play a board game with you and throw the board over when you lose.
You simply show that you’re a bitch and nobody likes bitches.
No matter how often you try to reason with “I just play for fun” actions speak louder than words and you show the actions of a scrub.
