Done.
Speaking of which, I think our hobo died. And where the hell is that damn vending machine? I’ve had a hankering for Cheetos for the past several months and it’s been no where to be found.
So I just got KOF XIII, is there something I’m missing? The game seems kinda ass to me
It’s brilliant. It isn’t marvel though. And by that I mean, it’s a totally different style of game. It’s alot closer to something like SF4, but you know, without the suck.
KoF is way more fun that Street Fighter, way less fun than Marvel IMO. Also there are positions of work here depending on what you do, I’m just ass at getting them D:.
This is easily the goofiest thread I’ve seen in a character forum.
I’ll try to fit in here somewhere I guess.
I have an appreciation for both the anime style fighter (Marvel) and the tradition calculating one (KoF). There are lots of anime options right now, but really, KoF is the only traditional one that doesn’t suck (SF4). Hopefully, SFxT will be good, it looks good, even if i disapprove of how they are handling gems and exclusives.
I don’t like the idea of RPG style elements in fighting games and the whole buying DLC to power up your characters…I dont wanna be a part of that drama.
I’m going all in on Skullgirls and this game basically. Most likely more so Skullgirls if enough people in my area get into it and how the online won’t suck ass…but definitely will still be big in this game also.
Its the DLC, buying, and pre-orde crap I hate, I don’t mind the idea of having customization options so much as long as it doesn’t go overboard. The reduction from 5 gems per character to 3 was a good thing.
Skull girls I used to be hype for, but the more I see it, the less interesting it becomes honestly.
Yeah? Some people say they think Skullgirls looks too slow and what not. Of course there’s the whole girl thing too but I’m not worried about that since all my favorite characters in fighters usually end up being girls any way.
Anything specific that has you underwhelmed about it or just in general? Even if it was the worst game in the world I would play it free because of the rollback netcode. Plus the game uses 6 normals like the old VS. and Darkstalkers games whch is much more familiar for me and will add a lot of options in the neutral game per character.
It’s kinda hard to say, it just feels like it doesn’t know what it wants to be. it’s kinda got all the elements of a bunch of different games and styles thrown together kinda willy nilly.
The pace of the game doesn’t really bother me, though none of the characters seem very appealing. I’ll still check it out though because it’ll have some community and to support MikeZ. Maybe it will surprise me. As sacrilegious as this is, MK9 surprised me, every game deserves at least some chance… except the doujin fighters, those can go to hell… except P4U… I <3 P4.
Well I’ve known Mike Z in the scene for the long while and met him at my first Evo. I know he loves MVC2 to death so I’m not surprised that the game looks like a combination of MVC2 and Darkstalkers gameplay wise. I personally really like the characters and generally like how the game just goes back to being a Capcom style game without all the new era fraud stuff. It’ll be interesting to play a game a new Capcom flavored fighting game with unique character designs and the emphasis on new people learning to become stronger players and not just becoming stronger via mechanics and hand me down stuff. Capcom obviously isn’t going to make a fighting game like that ever again so I’m down for supporting the Z man.
Ultimate plays the closest mechanics wise to an old school Capcom game (lots of cheap stuff even in the basic mechanics, really cheap rush and zoning tactics etc.) so that’s why I’ll stick with that. Especially with Dante, X-23 and C.Viper all in the same game.
True, I am happy that the game is avoiding all those new age system mechanics that just make me want to punch people, but believe it or not, there have been several games that don’t do that… just not out of Capcom. And actually, SFxT doesn’t appear to have a major one as Pandora seems bad (for the moment).
Like I said, I’m definitely giving SG a chance, there’s just nothing on the surface that really jumps out at me. But like I said, surface impressions are usually wrong, so we’ll see.
I just don’t like the concept of the gems period so I’ll just never get past that to even see. The game doesn’t seem different enough from UMVC3 either with seeming emphasis on 123 combos and tag fighting any way.
Skullgirls is a more hardcore game so the stuff that will make it standout from other fighters you’ll actually have to play the game to figure out I feel. I’m sure you’ll find some stuff you like even if you end up playing SFxT more.
They should just make SF3: 4th concussion.
They should. Or just make an actual arcade perfect port of 3S. I won a random small 3S tourney at the tourney I went to on Saturday and I remembered why I’ll like that game better than any other fighter. Love 3S Ibuki.
If I do hear pretty good reviews (especially from you) of SFxT after about a couple months or so I’ll start dabbling in it I guess since it has Ibuki in it.
