C.I.A. HQ: Viper Community Thread (NO C. VIPER TALK)

Ok, I’m having some serious god damn trouble with this emulator. I’m trying to configure my plugins/bios, but the plugins that came with the package + the bios I had to download else where, well, the program refuses to let me open them! I access them, and the bios show up greyed and unclickable. The plugins are shown as a folder I can open which I can’t use or else I get an error, and everything in that folder is also greyed. I don’t know what to do, and the internet isn’t helping! They’re all just saying the same things that I already know. =|

Have you tried Google? lol

Oh wait I guess Google would be “the internet” wouldn’t it?

“the internet” = google

Haha funny how I just kind of read your mind with my edit.

=P

Well sorry, I’m technologically illiterate, so I won’t be of much help. I guess I’ll go to bed now, though. Class in 3 hours haha

Okay fine, it would be like in marvel, if randomly, when you airdashed, you character just fell out of the sky on their ass. The point is, it’s not a player interaction, its a player CPU interaction, and even worse it’s based on random chance.

Your jumping analogy is bad. Jumping is a risk that I take, and it’s a risk because of what the opponent could do. It’s not a risk because the jump randomly won’t work.

This is alot of why PW is so terrible, because even with all the best setups and planning in the world, he randomly just won’t work.

*Edit - Also cant forget about Dissidia

So since i missed out on the discussion about the old ff’s (sleeptime in germany, it’s 11 am here ^^):

FFX is my favourite one too, and it most likely is my favourite non-fighting game of all time. I love this game so much that i almost shed a tear when they announced the hd remake at TGS last year. ^^

FFVII is second, but it’s pretty close to VIII and IX. I actually liked XII a lot too and VI was also epic.

The worst FF of all time for me was X-2.

XIII was good, but not good enough gor a Final Fantasy. I really like XIII-2 though, and enjoy playing it atm.

Play P4. I love the hell out of FFX, but it doesn’t hold a candle to P4.

Then again, only three games I can think of can be mentioned in the same breath as P4.

Yeah i think i have to, unfortunately i missed out on the whole series.

Unrelated, but again: how the HELL can i change my nickname on this site? ^^

Don’t let that stop you. The games aren’t really connected with each other, so you can start anywhere. Also, P1 and P2 (both) are very diffferent from P3/4 and not really quite as good.

The reason P4 is so good is because… well… it just is. Literally, outside of the fact that it’s kinda ugly, I couldn’t really point out any flaw in it. It’s one of the best games ever put together. The only games that can even remotely compete with it are:

Persona 4
MegaMan X
Majora’s Mask
Sonic 3 and Knuckles

It makes me so happy you said Majora’s Mask, best Zelda game of all time in my opinion. But what exactly is P4? If you don’t mind my asking.

P4 = Persona 4.

All of those games fuse gameplay, visuals, and storytelling. Making them truly complete representations of what a game is. None of them could be done in any other medium.

Have you tried any of the Uncharted games? If that’s what you’re looking for than Uncharted 2 is right up your alley. I haven’t touched U3 yet due to Marvel, but I’ve got no doubt it surpasses 2.

As for non-fighters, I’m looking forward to getting back into FF13 and 13-2, finishing Resistance 3, doing a second playthrough of Infamous 2 and waiting on Mass Effect 3. Wish I had time to get back into Team Fortress 2 - easily my favorite competitive shooter.

Also wish I was in the Dota 2 beta. Speaking of which, does anyone remember the Warcraft 3 mod Tides of Blood? IMO it was superior to Dota because of it’s rules and limitations. I’d say TOB is Street Fighter while Dota is Marvel and in the genre of hero maps, the Street Fighter method is a better formula.

You can’t really. They do have the capability as they had a promotion a month or so ago that if you spend X-amount of money at the SRK store you get the option to change your name. I’d suggest PMing a mod about it.

Uncharted doesn’t fuse those elements. It has them all but they don’t really mesh. Gameplay, storytelling, and visuals are all in the same room together yet separate, but in the games I mentioned, they are all the same person.

We’ll just have to agree to disagree, but I think it’s the only game in history that successfully made me feel like I was playing a movie. The building collapse and train segments alone did more than enough.

That’s my point. It was a playable movie, not a real pure game.

The experiences I listed could only be achieved through the video game media. They weren’t movies, they were games through and through.

that game looks hilarious lol. I remembered Dissidia and although its fun i dont really get passed just mashing buttons. besides I dont have a psp and im not much into handheld games

yea thats true. it doesnt look that hard i guess ill learn it lol
