lol Well, first off Ghaleon. I definitely don’t play mk, but I dabble in tekken here and there. I really only play Street Fighter so I’ll have to pass. 3s is fun, but I’m not even going to try to say that I’m good at it. I play SFII but mostly SFIV. Secondly Sakurahotdogs, you seem to have noticed where I live. Can you really blame me for not feeling any competition? From the looks of it, everyone that plays is a trip and a half away from me. : ( I want to go to this tournament to meet some people that actually enjoy the same games I do. The freakin hicks around here are all about CoD and Halo. ::yawn::

Hey that’s pretty cool actually. Like I said, I don’t play tekken much. (You couldn’t even call it casually honestly), but I’m all for watching. If you’re from CF there’s a good chance I know you! stupid small towns.
Canal Fulton isn’t that far – pretty much anywhere in the Cleveland/Akron area ends up like a 45 min drive for what you want to do – to have a group under an hour away really good at fighters is pretty rare for most of the country. Fighters have pretty much always been like that, gotta drive a bit to find like-minded players generally.
For like 5 years I haven’t had anyone better than me in 3s closer than a 4-6 hour drive, that’s something to complain about
I think Honkey#1, a great Tekken player, lives close to you too if you play Tekken. He’s married with kids so he doesn’t travel for games much anymore
Yeah, the real problem just stems from not seeing it. No matter where I go around here, if I start talking about fighting games I get lots of eye rolls. Frankly I miss the healthy arcade scene we used to have much closer to me and I think that nostalgia is a bit blinding. (Mind you, I was a little young when the Street Fighter craze was at it’s peak back in the day. Maybe like… 5 or 6?) I’m just surprised to see how many players are fairly close to me. The “no competition in NEO” thing wasn’t a call out or anything just to clarify. Just ignorance at it’s finest.
I hear you but yeah man, you gotta get out of your township if you want to learn more about fighters, it’s just so much more niche. There’s an Akron squad starting on Saturdays I think as well more into SFIV. I know it wasn’t really a call-out, was just letting you know there are really good players around and some of their drives for game night are about the same
