To be honest, the shotgun sounds better in that version. The sfx they used in the final version is the same one from the other valve games.

I thought was so people with lower end computers can play the game.

So some of the details needed to be watered down, also I read on the l4d site thta they also fixed some lighting stuff too so it’s more dynamic in the final ver.

It would still be nice to play the beta maps. Might be possible with the SDK coming soon!

I think it is mostly a matter of personal taste. Personally, I favor the more mundane everyday sort of style they went with over the almost action movie look of the beta. I do prefer the beta gun sounds though, especially for the SMG, the final SMG sounds and feels like a cheap toy. The beta version had some nice punch to it.

As much as I am looking forward to the SDK, what I most want to do is see how Team SRK stacks up in the Survival mode online rankings. I’ll be on in like two hours, finishing up some work then I’ll waste the whole night with L4D or Company of Heroes.

I actually like that this game goes slower overall. It adds a bit of anxiety when you can’t just run and jump and completely outmaneuver whatever whenever you want. I actually think this may be my new favorite game for a while. This is the most fun I’ve hd with a game in a long time :angel:

I think it’s more of “i’ve played the game, forgot what it originally looked like, found old vids of it now and want to play that version”. Bet the same thing would happen if we got that version and this version was the beta. It happens with a lot of games.

Wait until Expert. I promise you’ll sing a different tune. :lol: The stages are divided into mini areas, noted by a musical cue. If you stay within an area for too long, you get rushed by a horde. The expert horde WOULD spawn within 45 seconds of a team stalling around in an area. Now? It’s 25. :rofl:

I’m going to be torn between 2 groups…either here on SRK…or my tester buddies as team ATVI…

either way, I prefer the final ver or L4D…I can imagine the looks there is how it would be much later into the infection.

Yeah. It’s only an issue with tanks. But these glitches aren’t allowed in matches or scrims. And even in pubs, teams are rarely organized enough for this to be really effective. But it’ll be corrected, just like the old melee-the-machine-guns-and-shoot-across-the-screen trick, or breaking the door on NM3, and so on.

Having watched Survivor Mode videos, I think I’ll actually enjoy it. It’s much more more my speed than Campaign. Faster paced, more thinking on your feet (outside of the initial set up). Overall, just really hectic, which is how I most enjoy this game.

And I am really itching to play these new Versus maps. Finding infected strategies is really fun, as is dealing with unexpected ones as survivors, and Blood Harvest and No Mercy are pretty much figured out at this point. It’s just about which team can pull it off the best. Some new set ups would be great.

Just ran through the custom map Downsized with Amordien. The only custom maps that are must plays remain Death Knell and Resident Evil 3. =/

yea the SI can “revive” the survivors. It’s more of a showboating thing. The one annoying glitch out right now has gotta be the SI attacking while in ghost form. 6 free pts of damage to a team already low on health can be ugly : /

I would have preferred black hobo dude instead of Louis…but that’s just me.

I just watched that preview vid for survivor mode…getting a smoker off (shooting it) seems nearly impossible on the 360.

Whenever it goes live, I’ll be on right away.
