Saw this on another site.

Introduced fatigue to the melee attack in versus mode. You will see a HUD display when your melee swing is cooling down
Boomer vomit will now pass through common infected
(any truth to this boomer upgrade?)

I think out of the infected the boomer is the best. Add in melee fatigue and wow, things could get alot more interesting!

360 will have to wait till the 21st to get all this crazy stuff.

We have been trying to anyway. The SRK list has been pretty barren these past three or so days and even when we do get a game going some shit happens, like last night my L4D decided that I couldn’t find any servers as lobby leader and that I could join any random game I wanted, besides the one I actually wanted to play with Amordien and DDC. :wonder:

Something out there hates me, I no longer need any proof =/.

With all the dedicated servers down we’re in the same boat. I wonder when they will get em back up. This wasn’t a problem until the newest updates.

In a recent update for L4D on the PC, we provided the option for players to choose between starting a game on an Official server or the Best Available. This is just the first step in giving players control over what servers they play on and the type of experience they have.

This is part of the L4D SDK rollout, which is currently in a closed beta and will be released shortly after the launch of the L4D Survival Pack.

To support the SDK, we are extending the matchmaking system to allow for third party campaigns. We will be adding extra features so players will be able to find dedicated servers running the campaigns they have installed. They will also be able to see friends playing third party campaigns, and be directed to download them as necessary. Another major feature we are planning to add to the matchmaking system at a future date is team-based Versus matching. This will allow two teams of four to locate each other and compete in a Versus match.

We are also revamping our player matching based on skill level. Currently the system tries to match people with the same skill level and best pings together. We will be revisiting this system to tweak it based on data we have collected.

For next week’s blog post, we are going to look at the process of creating the box art.

I also had no idea the system did any sort of skill based match making at all. Granted, I only play with SRKers but my previous random matches either mean it didn’t work very well or I am a good deal worse than I imagined.

I’ve given the game a rest, trying to be totally revitalized for the SDK, and now it’s getting delayed even more.

Yeah, I’ve been taking a break until the new versus maps are available. Though I did play some matches with the new melee fatigue, and I love it. Survivors aren’t such a breeze through, and it forces you to pay more attention. Once the new maps are released, I imagine I won’t get much else done for a few weeks.
