Business anyone?!?

Actually, if I had the duckets I’d open a boxing gym called The Sound Pugilism located in Sodo.

lol

i couldnt box my way out of a circle

Try opening up close to a school too. I was at GameBreakers in Kent a few weeks ago, and they get a ton of their business from the local school not a block away. I was playing marvel in an empty arcade. 3 o’clock hit and the place was filled.

Also, doing some research on game pricing would be awesome too. I can gaurantee you that I wouldn’t be spending so damn much on Marvel at UW each week if it wasn’t 25 cents a game, but then again, my friend used to pay a dollar a game for DDR and play like 5 games every time we went to the arcade. Go figure. Some info on what the game price to return ratio is for most games would be a good thing to know.

Dan, if you meet any of those big breasted blonde chicks that are hyped about working in an arcade, let me know.

My opinion on the whole cost issue…people will pay good money for a good scene.

If we had an arcade that had a decent selection of fighters, and was in good repair. I probably wouldn’t mind spending a little more than what we’d expect them to cost.

The snacks/food idea is genius, btw.

It can be done, have faith!

Yeah, I noticed at gametrax that they finally got Inital D and kids in there went nuts.

But the art thing you mentioned is not a bad idea after all.

Hey look me up on aim! I need all of the advice i can get. Thanks!

I came across the pitfalls in my thoughts.

Yeah. The whole free thing. Everyone wants it. But Business is Business and I do hope this does happen…The would understand totally…

Hopefully.

Yeah. That school used to be called Kent Junior High! I use to go there. There marvel cab is way weird.

High damage -_-

People will pay top dollar for a good scene.

Of couse snacks

Seeing as where we are are, I’m surprised this hasn’t been done yet.

As for snacks, what about some healthy inexpensive stuff. You’ll be gaming longer AND taking care of yourself. Junk food will just make you crash after so long.

They’re called boobs. Trust me, I’m a biology major.

IIRC, zero (00000000) was talking about opening an arcade not too long ago. Maybe you guys could combine powers, go Captain Planet on the arcade idea.

I forgot about that! He did say something about that.

What really puts a crank in things is location.

I thought about opening on up in federal way!

What do you guys think?

Where is 0000000000 Anyway?!

Holy Shit yes! Ah, but I say this only because I live here. I think it might actually be kind of hard in Federal Way, since you would be competing with Tilt, and they are really well established. Then again, Federal Way is a pretty big place.

If you do anything well enough it is bound to be successful despite competition, but it could be tough.

Really strange. I’ve not been on SRK in like 2 weeks and suddenly, I feel the -need- to jump on. Then I see this… Random.

Anyway, I’ll start with saying that I’ve a buuuuunch of ideas, in fact, I’ve the WHOLE place planned out and everything, seriously. I’ve even done some thinking on cost. My road block was funding. I don’t know where to start when concerning a business grant/loan.

Then there’s location. If you ask me, s’ not too bad, especially becuase we can still get dope turnouts depending on what’s going down. The thing is, I feel we can leverage location with facilities and events. This meaning that, we can take a hit by getting a location that’s convenient for most and not for others yet do well so long as s’comfortable as well as a place you don’t mind spending multiple hours at. I can go into detail if you get a hold of me. Even better in person.

As far as my mind is concerned, the only -real- kink is funding. The location part will fall into place, no pun intended.

I’ve got one arcade machine, and a number of fighting game boards that are ready to go into a local arcade

ST, MvC2, A3, and 3s

I’d be happy to put them to good use

I think someone should try to open an arcade in one of the 100+ new stores they’re adding at Southcenter, a perfect location if you ask me

Too bad you are going to sell me that cabinet in the near future.

yeah, sure I am

whatever happened to that SSF2 cabinet?

Stupid bitch had a fucked up cabinet, the monitor was dead… I am still looking for one, and I have decided I want yours instead.

you just gotta keep checkin dat craigslist for some hot deals

http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/tag/523183165.html
that Rampage machine would be very nice with a new CP, provided the monitor works

http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/tag/524379768.html
that sideart is worth $500 alone IMO
IT’S A BASKET BRAWL

to stay on topic: I’m open for hire as an arcade tech, I can fix stuff

Yeah I have seen those. I really don’t like wood working or any of that stuff. I could replace parts, but I can’t wire shit. Sometimes I wonder if I call up music vend and as for a marvel machine to see how much they cost.

More on topic, I am sure it would cost HELLA to get a decent number of cabs from music vend. I can barely find cps2 machines, let alone naomi cabs on craigslist.

man, making a new CP is easy! If I didn’t just buy a new computer, I’d be all over that Rampage machine

I bet music vend would charge at the very least $1000 for a cab which probably wouldn’t even be in good condition

I scored mine for $600, in awesome shape, with a Marvel board

just be patient!

i wanna potentially buy a KOF 98UM board. Maybe i could ask Dad & Mom to build me a cabinet, im sure he would like like the project.
