No problem! So many factors come into play if you’re insistent on Dark Spell charging, especially with certain matchups.

Also, Karst once said that when he pops 2C1D or 2D1C, he would immediately call Vergil Rapid Slash assist (which is VERY good for keepaway characters) to push them back fullscreen while charging up three Spells again.

That’s def a good thought too if you’ve got Mr. V. I just think, if you can find a way to charge 3 spells during the time it takes for them to block liberation AND missiles directly in sequence, what’s to be able to stop you from looping the trap? (Aside shit like EX sizmo, hard drive, etc). It wouldn’t be a fool-proof lockdown, but in most matchups, should make them WISH they were only fighting morrigan lol

For the most part, I agree. Viscant did say that Dorm/Doom is like MVC2 Sentinel/Blackheart.

From a Shock Wave DHC into Stalking Flare, I use f.h and call Missiles and then cancel into Purification. Then another f.h and cancel into charging 2C1D. Then I do f.h and call Missiles and cancel into the Meteors and try to repeat. I have to mix it up sometimes but it’s strong when you’re opponent’s full screen and you have the advantage.

Just started playing Magneto/Dorm/Doom last week since I wanted a break from the usual and it’s been interesting. I’m glad F. Champ made that list because I’ve been getting blown up by those characters. Hulk gives me trouble as well since I’m always watching for Gamma Charge. What do you guys think about Missiles vs. Plasma Beam? The first thing I noticed when trying out Dorm/Missiles is that I felt a lack of horizontal space control (besides f.h) and Plasma Beam seems to allow for some constant charging and comes out so fast.

Thoughts?

FChamp does use Plasma Beam. Although he uses it for his troll teams, it provides good horizontal coverage while also serving as a mid-range GTFO assist. Which was probably a good reason why he decided to go with Beam instead of Missiles for his GR/Dorm/Doom team at the Absolute Battle tourney he won.

Someone on the stream thread wrote this too about the Dorm/Doom/Phoenix team:

"I love the philosophy of the team: Dorm up front with godlike zoning that can destroy a whole team without burning meter. Doom with beam assist is the best choice. Sure, Dorm + missiles is amazing zoning, but Dorm can already zone well on his own. Dorm can cover the verticals with pillars. Doom beam is great to cover Dorm’s weakness against rushdown. The beam covers the horizontal ground approach that rushdown characters rely on. Plus, FChamp gets derpy teleport + beam crossups ala MastaCJ. And then, Phoenix is in the back as insurance."

I’ve said this since Vanilla, but I’m glad someone finally took the time to make a video of it. IMO, it’s really hard to do consistently though. I might prefer using Dark Matter off of the XFC into a teleport.

Very nice! As for the horizontal control, the way I play the team (not claiming it to be right or wrong) is to make getting Dorm in w/ Mag still alive a critical goal. Therefore Disruptah gives you access to a horizontal beam (not to mention the ‘MastaCJ’ type crossups). I love it because when you establish that your game plan is lock-out zoning traps with missiles, if you can sniff out a good second or two where they’ll remain on the ground, they almost never see the quick crossup coming. ZAP! :slight_smile: Done right, it’s almost like just getting a free combo when you feel like it, even from a full screen away.

Its M teleport. You have to Xfactor in anticipation of the final hit of the chaotic flame so that the soft knockdown from it allows enough time to reach over there with an M teleport. If you XF a split second too early you wont get that pop up, but too late and there wont be enough time to teleport over there.

I’m having a rough time getting this TAC down, the only part i’m really struggling with is after the two dark holes, you go into C. and have to jump up and do A. into C.

I cant seem to get the jump A. to C. to connect. i’ve tried delaying it a little and am not sure why it’s not working, idk if they somehow patched this since this video had been uploaded but i heard they didn’t. i just wanna know what i’m doin wrong, any help is greatly appreciated. The A. just knocks them out of the combo and from there im lost.

There’s a thread on Dorm’s TAC infinite*** right here. ***It goes quite into detail about the trouble you’re having with the combo (which is that you aren’t timing the falling H at the end of each rep correctly).

thanks for the prompt reply, i saw that after i posted in here. Man its ludicrous to ever try this outside of casuals, the videos make it look so easy. the timing and height seem like they have to be perfect.

So what am I supposed to do against vergil, dante, spencer and wolverine? Especially when they are backed up by Strider? lol If I can get a stalking flare out on Wolverine I can usually last a while once I stock up inferno to get him off of me if he gets in and then I can either combo if it hits/chaotic flame/or stalking flare to keep him out again to stock up inferno. But other than that I’m screwed.

I run:
Task (vert arrows)/Dorm/Doom (missiles)
Dorm/Arthur daggers)/Doom (missiles)

I think Taskmaster has the best chance against all 4 you listed and he can do something about Vajra. Your Task should do significant damage to those guys. How good is your Task?

Hey guys: I’m trying to come up with a team combo for dorm/nova/magnus. I apologize for the lack of video but the combo is pretty straightforward, could use some advice on optimizing or at the least making it more consistent.

(optional: start from teleport, magneto disruptor, air h )cr. m, h, s, mmhs, call Nova assist (Centurion Rush), dash, flame carpet, Forward H (dark matter), cancel into fly, addf, s, mmhs, pillar xx flame dhc nova force.

Gets ~1m for two bars and probably builds one but the problem is finding that magic height to addf after the flight cancel. Any suggestions?

^In the beginning after the air H, you can do 2 jump loops of j. LHS, then st. M, cr. H, S into the rest of the combo. Be sure to delay the j.S to land faster.
