ahhh ok, that explains why i couldn’t find it
I have been doing Medium teleports, but that damn dog auto corrected or the guy just did it really late. Hopefully I’ll come up with better ways to fend of spam with the record option
EDIT: Found a few things to do. I’ll post them in the OP, feel free t contribute and maybe we can get a list going?
Alright seriously now guys, I can’t get in on deadpool. He just spams guns until one connects. If I try to teleport or Purification/dark hole, i risk getting hit and leading into super. If you super jump he just slides under you. WTF am i suppose to do against this besides chaotic flame on reaction, cuz it will take like 3 of them to kill him.
Dormmamu’s Med. attacks can completely nullify Dooms beams and that beam hits quite a few times. I’ve done it more than a few times in training so i know it works, not comfortable trying that in an actual match yet but i do use it on easy projectiles like Akuma’s. Funny thing is, i unintentially baited him into trying to punish me with Hyper fireball, but of course i recovered in time to block.
As far as gunfire though, i don’t know exactly how their projectile mechanic works so i can’t say, but i would be willing to bet Dormmamu’s normals can’t nullify gunfire. So i just go with teleport/assist/Dark Matter/Dark Hole. Purification is too slow.
Hmmm maybe air teleports will work to get in safely? I’ll have to try that out later.
Does negate unibeams too? I think that is the longest beam next to dooms
I want to say yes but i’m not entirely sure. It’s an easy check though, just go into training and give it a whirl. I’m sure everybody already knows this but, just as a reminder… Dorm’s standing, crouching and air Med. Hrd. And Specials all nullify projectiles. Only Lgt. doesn’t stop projectiles. So… lets say for example Med. doesn’t have enough active frames or whatever, then maybe Hrd. could work. I have no idea yet of course but that is something to consider checking.
u should use the flight mode since its rly easy to do and pretty good to have a teleport and a flight mode
M beats Doom’s and magneto’s don’t see why it wouldn’t be Iron mans Uni Beam which is slower then the first two.
It’s odd that he can beat Doom and Magneto since he’s only supposed to be able to stop “low and medium” priority projectiles. I also don’t see how people can reliably stuff an :l: disruptor on reaction. Beams are supposed to have less priority overall, but Doom seems to be able to stop just about everything but Storm’s Whirlwind.
What’s odd about it? The only “high” priority projectiles are hypers.
Like I just said, Doom’s beam can stop most everything other than Storm’s Whirlwind. Both of those seem like the highest priority projectiles/beams in the game outside of hypers. So are those the only “medium” projectiles while everything else would be “low”?
Naw, Doom’s beam and Storm’s Whirlwind are both low priority. There are only a handful of medium priority projectiles in the game, like Arthur’s Gold Armor Lances and MODOK’s Floating Bomb. Doom’s beam just has a ton of low priority hit points, but I’m pretty sure it will still lose to Thor’s lightning. Storm’s Whirlwind makes many low priority “projectiles” pop up, so even if your projectiles beats one, the rest of the animation continues. For example, if you use Dark Hole in the middle of Whirlwind, Dark Hole will eat that part of Whirlwind normally, but the move still continues to generate more “whirls” as normal. That’s just how the move is coded. So Whirlwind isn’t high priority, it’s just coded in such a way that makes it difficult to snuff out with anything, even medium priority projectiles.
Edit: Priority in this sense doesn’t refer to what beats what, but there is an actual line in the code for each projectile stating its priority: high, medium, or low. High priority projectiles beat medium and low 100% of the time. Medium beats low 100% of the time. Projectiles in the same priority tier clash based on hit point values, and the strongest one emerges. Dr. Doom’s beam has a lot of hit points, but it is still low in priority, and will be demolished by Arthur’s Gold Lances.
Tragic posted for Dormammu. They’re rather basic compared to the other apprentice combos, though…
Anybody done anything interesting with Creation 3 Liberation? (Opponent can’t jump for 300 frames). Definitely weird to use, but (depending on the character) you could store 3 more spells, call assists fairly safely (especially the meter ones), get an almost guaranteed combo unless their blocking is amazing, or do fun things like guaranteed Raging Demon. Alternatively it seems like a good way to wait out XFC. (or maybe even D. Phoenix).
it can be circumvented, it only prevents normal and super jumping. Any other moves that cause the op to go in the air still work (this is paraphrased from the guide off the top of my head). And they can still do other moves ala dragon punch. I’m pretty positive its a hit, so you can probably store 3C’s, then combo using the liberation assist and do a raging demon/grab super.
Edit: 3D liberation assist is hard to store, but really useful as a full screen OTG assist. Hulk can dash forward/gamma charge and gamma crush mid-screen if the timing is on point. Also the thought just occurred to me, what about a liberation counter assist?
Nice. I wish my assists could allow for better combos with Dormammu. Once again I am wholly reliant on the sole hope of Shuma-Gorath.
If you get that in HQ capture card video, I’d post it in the main thread.
Waiting out X-Factor is an interesting idea. I had not thought of that. Though, if I can get 3 charges and have a Liberation land, I’d rather land 3D:0C, Dark Hole, then Chaotic Flame. 0D:3C really needs to be unblockable for all the work you have to put into it.
It sure would be one of the better options, but Dormammu always feels so meter-starved as it is to me. I often would rather just drop a character than use meter unnecessarily.
What are your plans for the Old One?
For him to replace Dr. Doom. Dormammu can combo off of any beam in the game, an I assume Mystic Ray is no different. Plus it OTGs, which might allow Dormammu to extend combos further if I don’t utilize Ray in my setup. It also sounds like a great keepaway assist that covers the area in front of me when I decide to make throw out a riskier Purification or Dark Hole. It’s a lot of hope on my end, I admit, but so far Dormammu is the only character I like in this game. I would kill for Blackheart/Dormammu/Shuma-Gorath.
Plus, have you listened to Dormammu’s custom intro dialogue with Shuma? It’s so perfect, these guys need to be on a team.
I’m not too concerned about DHC synergy, just because I burn so much meter with Dormammu that I only really get the chance to DHC at the start of a fight after my first combo. Although Stalking Flare and Chaos Dimension might work well; Stalking Flare could protect Shuma’s advance, but it would only really work if I had an assist to let him extend beyond Chaos Dimension’s hit.
You?
Dones’t sound like hope, from what I’ve read about it, the H version of Mystic Ray which is the assist Version that sweeps from the ground straight up vertically in the air. It will be perfect for Dormammu to guard his front even further, and for some zoning since its near to impossible to avoid it in my opinion, as mentioned it otg, and knocks down and hits 10 times. They will mesh well together well. As for Blackheart Rest in Peace my eternal friend you’ve earned it.
Naw, haven’t where do I go to hear it?
All I know is that my day one team will be Shuma, Trish & Dorm.
I’d very much like to know which combos people are having the most success with as standard BnB material. So far, I’ve been kind of stuck on the standard jump-in, small combo, launch, MMHS, Purification/Liberation OTG, L1 or L3. While it’s certainly powerful and easy, I feel like I must be missing something that would be better.
It’s in-game. Check Dormammu’s later voice files. I want to say it’s around 68. Dormammu’s intro is:
“What is thy will, ancient one?”
Victory message:
“Back to the Chaos Dimension with you!”
Hsien-ko also has special text with Shuma-Gorath. Something about how he got her all slimey and he’s gross.
If you want longer combos, you either need to utilize liberations, assists, or corner combos. No one has discovered anything more potent thus far.
