the problem with that shit, is a lot of it is from the OTHER STUDENTS interviews, diarys, etc. Of course they’re gonna say “hell no, those guys were weird and we were all innocent”
Too much shit came out when Columbine went down, you can’t suddenly say that they weren’t picked on and shit. Fuck the people in that school. Those two columbine crazy fuckers probably SAVED lives down the line, when people finally realized that some people, u can only push so far
O god people, look it up. Theres an entire book called Columbine that is comprehensive. And of course its not just the view of some studwnts who want to deflect blame. Some of us actually like to think for ourselves and verify info. Eric Harris was a normal, popular-enough kid with girlfriends, friends, and all the rest. Dylan was shy and reserved but very creative and also well liked. They were not bullied, they were not motivated to kill out of any sense of vengeance, they didnt belong to the trench coat mafia, and all the other bullshit. Harris was a classic psychopath, and dylan was under his spell.
I swear, this is why retards get elected in this country, because ppl make decisions based on heresey, half truth, and assumption.
Fraid not, dude. Kids who were bullied never killed people. Even the kids in those Emotionally Handicapped classes. They either got sick of that shit and fought back, or just cried like little bitches (which was kinda embarrassing cuz I hung out with 3 dudes like that in middle school). The kids in EH usually just snapped and tried to fight, but weren’t very good at it, so the bully went from actively hitting them to just trying to restrain them and looking innocent while a teacher separated them. If these kids ever grabbed a gun, they’d use it on themselves. A lot of bullied kids I met were also being picked on at home by their stepfather/mother’s boyfriend for liking to read, needing glasses, and generally being a stereotypical nerd. The crazy fuckers who gunned down other kids were gonna do that shit anyway.
Oh Columbine stuff, yeah those kids weren’t bullied at all. THEY were the bullies. Harris was a whatcha call it, sociopath. The other one was just following along.
They didn’t snap, the one was snapped from a long time ago and the other was just really really depressed and pushing by his only friend.
They would call other kids *******, pin underclassmen against lockers, the whole deal. They were both pretty popular with everyone, the leader Eric was very well liked.
They were into criminal activity WELL before the shootings, and had this all planned out for awhile. If you are interested in Columbine at all you should get this book
Very well written book. Go read it if you want to learn how rich white people are assholes.
Cho Seung Hui was mentally disturbed from a very young age which eventually manifested into shocking violence. He was not a bullied kid who was pushed too far and sought revenge.
There are, however, enough accounts to prove that he was bullied in high school. Combined with his mental illnesses, that could have been enough to set him up for what happened in college. Who knows?
Jesus, that kid got fucked up and got what he deserved. He’s lucky that kid didn’t keep beating his ass. He should’ve got the message when that big kid no-sold that punch and just backed off.
I get why the kid snapped and fucked that bully up, but that doesn’t excuse him for fighting. Both kids deserved to be suspended. I don’t know if it’s in within the school’s rights to ask, but I’d try to force that skinny kid into some sort of counseling before letting him back into school. Obviously, there’s something way wrong with him, if he’s trying to bully a kid twice his size.
I’m probably showing my age here, but I don’t ever recall being bullied in school. I got a little teasing for stuff, like a lot of kids do, but it was never at a point where people wanted to kick my ass for know reason. I think people today are way too prone to violence.
I want to address this, because I felt similarly after Columbine went down. I stop short of canonizing the shooters, but think that the community brought this on itself by turning a blind eye to the cruelty faced by the school’s social outcasts. You know, all you had to do was step in… there was no reason for this to go as far as it did.
What infuriates me is that bullying is recognized as a serious problem facing today’s youth NOW, as if the internet was a game changer. That blow-dried yutz Brian Williams referred to bullying in the 20th century as a “rite of passage,” as if it was socially acceptable before that big bad nasty internet came along and ruined its quaint charm.
Uh, no? Bullying wasn’t cute when I was growing up, and it isn’t cute now. Why did this suddenly become a pressing issue when the victims stopped being nerdy, socially-awkward boys and started being pretty, photogenic girls killing themselves over mean Facebook posts? Oh yeah… RATINGS. Not to mention the creaky old media’s pathological need to scare their viewers about the internet.
In short, fuck the media, fuck this hypocritical society, and fuck that school for suspending the kid who was bullied when he should have been carried on the shoulders of his classmates in raucous celebration. You’ve made him a victim twice.
Wow… I was bullied in school when I was a kid… you know how people stopped? I lost it with a couple of bullies. I gave one a broken nose and the other black eyes and a swolen cheek… nothing was done against me because everyone knew me as a ‘gentle giant type’ and provocation played its part in my favour.
LOL i remember one of the teachers telling me that i had fists like ‘ham hocks’ and people patting me on the back saying well done… Looks like when all else fails an ass whopping is needed!
Is it me or does picking on someone twice your size seem suicidal, crazy or just plain stupid?
