Building a case for Raspberry Pi

So I’ve seen these cool cases made out wood for Neo geo boards. I kinda wanted something like that for my raspberry board and because I have no wood working skill I was going to seek help. But just off your guys opinion. How difficult would it be to pull some ring like this off ?

Been thinking about this myself for a while. Looks like @butteroj is making one too here.

Not hard at all. There’s tough ways and easy ways. If your not good at wood working or don’t have the tools, you can buy a wood serving tray to use as the box. Can pick up unfinished one for $10. For the front & rear panels Im using frontpanelexpress.com . You pick the size, you design the layout/cutouts & they make it.

thats a cool Idea, I was kinda wanting to do something like this

Here is what I wound up with:

@butteroj …How do you like the ATXRaspi? Was thinking of tossing one of those in my Picade.

Super easy, does its job and is cheap. All wins

Great, thanks! I really need a power button on my Picade and my Pi console. The Nin10do acrylic case is gorgeous, but it’s sadly out of my budget range.

I’ve been getting the itch to design and 3D print a miniature CPS2 A/B board shell with a power button.

Man that’s cool! Just saw the price of that and just shit my pants… forreal? Surely some enterprising builder can make a similar and refined solid chassis and sell it for much less and still profit. Cool idea though.

The diy case alone is like $30. Far from expensive. The diy kit, with button, usb hub, atxraspi and all hardware/wiring cost me $100 shipped.

Ok gotcha. I was looking at the completed kits then. Yes the case itself is much more reasonable. https://www.nin10doshop.com/webshop/diy---kits--parts/

And if your in the states shoot them an email. Theyll build you an order without VAT which equals a 21% discount.

Good looking out! Thanks for the info.
