I’m finding Hakan is all about NEVER letting the opponent get in on you. He has some sick anti airs that can prevent this, but he takes an entire new kind of playstyle, in my opinion. His 360 > HK goes through fireballs, and works very well, lk goes through grabs, and mk goes through normals. Also, if you aren’t oiled, you aren’t going to be doing shit. He has a mean wake up game when he’s oiled due to ->HK knocking down.
Also, Hakan is capable of cancelling his dashes with normals, and maybe even specials. He has to be oiled though.

Yeah Hakan is too gimmicky to be any kind of good. You put any pressure on him and he’s fucked cuz he needs oil. He’s bottom 5 for sure but someone real good with him will prolly place well at a major just cuz we are gonna get no practice.

And Tony, I feel you about losing, I’ve had a little rage myself lately. Has anyone been losing a lot more in ranked than they did in G1? If I played G1 2 weeks ago I swear my win rate would be 90-95%, now in ranked even with Honda its more like 60-70%.
I think it’s because some really good people are playing online because the game just came out. For example, I played a Cody in ranked, who I beat and then he came back and took me out. He only jumped after a knockdown for cross up. Like what the heck! I wonder if he would have trashed me with whoever he played in SF4. So if you aren’t online get on it, this is a good opportunity to level up.
Oh and I’m losing to new gimmicks and learning along the way. =. Looking forward to Barcade tomorrow.
Needs to be common ground regardless, also heavily preferred to use ones that don’t require adding extra resistors to make the triggers function. Fightpad PCBs are my current favorite, real easy to work with.

my story:
this was 2nd day of actual street date release. i was already really high in PP [ top 80-100 in world ]. my experience online that’s pissed me off is this. i decided to play a little ken to mess around 'cause i was raping too hard with viper [ started my first 60 matches @ 88% win ]
#1 i think my school internet took a huge fucking shit when i was playing with ken 'cause i was dropping combos left and right and it was laggy as hell. LOTS of random stutters and sometimes the screen would freeze for a good second.
#2 i lost 800 PP losing as ken in like 10 matches 'cause i kept on losing 100+ everytime i lost. EVEN WITH the “same skill” filter on i got people like 1000+ points under me in PP [ BP means jack shit 'cause you never lose enough for it to matter, so many scrubs are like 4000+ BP 'cause it never goes down significantly. ]
#3 my ken started out 2-9 and even after a lot of games was @ 40%… let’s get real my ken’s pretty good, the kids i was playing weren’t even good. i got random’ed to hell and it was fucking annoying. i just kept on massing games and i just kept getting angrier and angrier leading to some really stupid play. [ i set myself to invisible just so i could raise my ken win % and massed ranked matches rofl! i was THAT determined to turn it around ]
redemption: my viper’s still beast… my ibuki’s 67% with 30 matches so it’s sorta respectable considering i can’t do much with her… and i brought my ken to 60% eventually but god i’m never playing ken online ever again. ryu’s still strong as hell i feel, been really successful with him so far as well.
i feel like the competition is slightly better than sf4 though. people aren’t trying to do retarded ass rushdown to try to win, they are actually turtling and shit, trying to play smart, etc. however, the random mashing bitches still are everywhere and i’ll never play ken again 'cause fuck i don’t think i ever had to work that hard with ken till ssf4 ranked matches online. i tried to mix it up and shit, and honestly none of it was working, most of the time i tried to bait nothing happened and when i actually went for the kara throw i would get random reversaled. it was just a shitfest.

I dunno if you were playing before release, or I was playing late at night, or what, but I played yesterday in ranked from 1030 to 1230 and got zero scrubs. Not a single masher in ranked. I got to play Rufus, Ibuki, Guy, Feurte, Sagat, Ryu, Cody, Abel, Bison, Rog, etc. Haven’t seen a fellow Honda yet though.
Teams and Endless is a different story, all the ass players are there. I played a team match where it was 3 players to two, and my other guy lost the first game. I beat all three of their players without losing a round =.
So you guys are raging too huh? I remember now why I decided to stop playing tournies, I just can’t seem to not get angry at these things. I’m playing a game I didn’t care much about right now, against a friend of my friend Fox, lost to him and I was getting salty. Why? No reason for it, it’s just a game. But yeah no tournies for me, definitely. That’s not SF specific, that’s just overall until I can handle myself more respectfully. Gotta be like Dudley, have some dignity!
