Well Greg, I’m going to neither. Honestly I may have heard about this Canada trip before but it probably slipped my mind. My budget as of late has been sucky. I want to go to more tourneys but my job sucks in the pay/hours department. At this point I’m just bidding my time searching for something better. In the meantime I should be at pnt for Saturday.
Playing Rochester made me realize how much I don’t punish against Violet or Law. I will get cracking on fixing this over the week.

Greg we dont go to dustbowl for reasons you should already know. I don’t know why you’d support it either… But it’s your time, waste it as you will.
I was under the impression that people were going to Canada this weekend, so it wasn’t as much about supporting DB as it was having something productive to do with the GF. Also, I would like to have some matches against Sinn and the NYC guys that are going. In addition, I think things like not going to a fairly big tournament, reducing the number of players playing TTT2, further makes the game feel dead to those who do go. Basically, if I go, it’s not to support Damus and Dustbowl, but to support the Tekken scene and to level up my own game. I’ll be bringing a setup, so at the very least, I can get casual matches in if the event is a bust.

The tournament is not fairly big. There will be 8-10 tekken players…max. So like, we could get that by making a few phone calls if anyone cared enough…at any given time. It’s not like you are sitting around clamoring for more tournaments, so don’t use the “we shouldn’t kill the community further by ignoring events” card here. DB is alienated by the tekken community at large for a reason. The whole tone of your post shifts when you try to touch on that, from innocent yearning for more competition to condescension about what you think the rest of us are doing to the tekken community by not going. DB is not anything to anyone, it doesn’t represent tekken’s lifespan and if you REALLY cared about trying to show the game isn’t dead, you’d go to real tournaments in NYC, OH, MI and PA. So please don’t come at me with that line of thinking, it’s played out 
I ain’t your keeper and I don’t really care if you go or don’t go. But don’t fool yourself about it being a real tourament or showing tekken is still supported. No one who cares about tekken will give a damn who wins that event.
We all were gonna go to Canada, but the date kinda crept up on us and not enough people were going to make it worthwhile.
I wasn’t trying to sound condescending at all. I was just expressing my thoughts on the issue. I’m not as experienced at this stuff as you are. I figured that getting out there even at small events is a good thing for the community. shrug I guess I’m just not as familiar with the tournament scene as you.

Besides Sinn and ZTS, I remember that Damus played pretty solid at the last DB as well as another player named MVK (i think). He was pretty solid too. He played Jack 6/ P. Jack.

but yea i started posting on here to try to keep in touch. i moved over to lackawanna area and cant seem to find time to game haha. if anyone on here plays sf4 on ps3 or guilty gear let me know. i want to get more matches in!! also about the pnt guilty gear crew. ive played them and they have potential I just havent played anyone over there that gives me reason to commute from lackawanna to pnt on saturdays
Everyone commutes from somewhere, man. In fact, I think there are Lakawanna people you could carpool with.
I’m curious, what are the main differences between the Jack Bros.? Is it just difference in damage and reach or are there other details about them that make them different to play?
Just like Christie and Eddy, the Jacks are very similar in almost every aspect. Jack6’s superior range makes him a better character in terms of a poke game and combo game. Pjack is missing a few key moves that J6 has- f+1,2 is a great combo extender that Pjack lacks, Pjack cannot do iFC db+1 as a poke like J6 can, b+1+2 is a great anti dash in attack that floats for great combos, ss+1 is a great safe mid launcher that tech traps and hits grounded in a lot of situations and J6’s 1 throw is vastly superior in respect to it’s positioning properties as it wall splats and if broken with his back to wall, puts opponent with their back to wall. Mainly though the range is what makes up the bulk of differences, as the traditional ender of b+3,2,2- the last hit whiffs for Pjack on any combos exceeding 5 hits, where J6’s will never whiff no matter how many hits in the combo as long as the kick connects. Also J6’s baseball slide is wayyyyy better and has longer range to catch tag outs with (Pjacks is a flying headbutt instead).
Pjack does have some limited but superior tools in his debugger being 2 hits and a great combo ender and has Paul’s d+1,2 hammer fist to power punch. But obviously you’d trade that for better range, pokes and combo ability.
But since I play J6 all day in TR, i can tell you they basically play the same with just a few key variations.

I’m not going to Dustbowl. As much as I want to get out of the city and crush people on behalf of the great city of Buffalo, I really don’t have the money for gas and entry this week. Also, it looks like everyone will be at PnT for Tekken anyway. When is the next “Real” tournament that’ll have Tekken? NYC?
