Andy, I’m interested, what testing were you talking about with Phil? I can only assume killing Phoenix in a single move, but under what conditions? Because most level 3’s do it outright.

I’m trying to kill Dark Phoenix before she can move/immediately after “I can’t control it!”

Originally, I wondered if I could use Ryu’s Shinku Hadouken to trigger Dark Phoenix from outside her throwback range and go right into Vergil’s lvl 3 to kill her. (Ryu/Vergil were just the first 2 I thought of.) The Guilty Gear/KOF/UMvC3 helped me test it.

From there, I tested other projectile Hypers into level 3s, then projectile assists into level 3s to save meter.

First was Doom’s Finger Lasers into Dante’s level 3. The latter needs to be timed right but it works.

I forgot to mash it, but Ice Storm doesn’t do the trick unmashed. Wolverine’s level 3 does not work at all, nor do Dr. Strange and Deadpool’s counter Hypers. Strange’s is a projectile Hyper, Deadpool’s is physical.

Magneto’s Gravity Squeeze is dirty as hell. Because it zeros in, you can actually do it before Phoenix’s animation and it will still grab her. Basically, it’s like “I can’t control i—!” GRAB. And it works in the air.

@andy - I’m pretty sure phoenix can block after the transformation invincibilty ends. Or phoenix can xfactor during the invincibilty and be able to block right away. You can test it by using the record feature in training mode.
