I don’t remember where I saw solar flare assist, it has the same animation as the counter, but didn’t see it hit.

Sure as crap doesn’t give MUCH meter, but it gives meter.

Maybe the one counter move is for projectiles, and one is for physical attacks. Or maybe one of them was the command throw, but it was out of range?

Her assist gives about half a meter, but it stays out there for a while. Maybe it would be good for characters who can lock down with projectiles and stuff. Maybe like Arthur, Dormamu, Modok etc

Ammy looks like she has a high/low mixup that she did immediately out of Celestial Brush in one of the Keits vids; drop a Slash paper and go into a low string. Looks like it hits overhead.

I almost got all of the Beads in Okami, but that Grande Dickmaster dude proved to be too much of a pain for my brain.

I’m curious as to what other alts we’ll see for her. Maybe the different dog heroes. I don’t remember their names.

It would be cool if she gets a costume as the NineTails, or one with Susano/a kid/or Issun on her back (maybe too much memory?)

A NineTails costume would probably be hard to pull off. That’s pretty much a different model altogether.

It’d take a bit of extra animating, but I think a costume with Susano on her back would be pretty damn funny.

Ammy’s gray black is actually Gi.

Played Ammy on every team I had at fight club tonight.

I completely love Amaterasu. I got a better understanding of Ammy with each match I had, I actually started to get a win streak so I was probably one of the few people there who played over 10 matches, there were hundreds of people in there.

Anyways…

-airdash cancelling…love it. Its just one more thing to clutter up the screen. It looks like a projectile, it can be done in all directions and its ambiguously fast. A working strategy was to keep canceling the airdash into normals to get them to twitch, then I started whipping to the other side of the screen to crossup with j.A

-jumping A on top of Ammys short stubby hitbox is really good for crossing up. hard to tell if shes jumping on top on over you.

-d,d + B changed to sword & d,d + C changed to whip

-cold star is an awesome special attack. it completely eats other projectiles so if your gameplan is to run away and throw projectiles, think again. i believe you can do it in sword and whip stance only. QCF + A was ground and B was the anti air version, which also hits grounded. Mash the button for multiple ice bullets. Didnt try it with C.

-range on whip is nearly full screen I have a feeling this will be the stance of choice for those heavy zoning teams. one whip normal acts like an anti-air which is super sexy. attacks also chain into each other from full screen, dont think exchange in whip stance launches, which makes sense because the range is so wide.

-exchange in normal stance seemed to whif sometimes when I did j.A, A, A, B, C, E

-element super is almost instant in the air?

-couldnt really find a use for slow.

I wish I could have played around a little more with Ammy’s stances and also her normal stance QCF + attack. It reminds me of Ruby Heart’s multi-direction charging attack. IIRC you can maneuver in the air by dashing and then QCF + attack

I was wondering if I was bugging or not. Gi was my favorite.

I wanna know more about the glaive charge. Is it able to be used in air for a quick transport full screen or directional (like in Okami)?

I got to play about 11 or 12 matches and every time I picked Ammy. Like Yah Yaahh said, I love everything about her character.

The air dash was much better than I thought it would be, especially with a solid assist like Doom rocks. Keeps people occupied while you go for the (non)cross-up.

Paper slash move was also a lot better than I had given it credit for. They stay on screen for a while and are amazing for protecting against jump-ins.

Cold Star is great, although I think it was a DP motion.

Beads almost can’t be beat in the air. Jumping C with the beads covered a lot of space.

Elements super is ridiculous. I punished so many people throwing out random chip-supers. Super jump - Elements. It also seems mashable for more hits.

Her slow super was decent at this event, but once the game is released and people get used to it, it won’t be that great. Unless you can combo into and out of it.

The charge attack was pretty good, you can air dash and then do the Charge QCF air attack to really screw with people.

Her Glaive seemed to be her OTG hit after an air exchange. I think, maybe, you can hold the C button with Glaive to kinda charge it like you could in Okami.

Only gripe I had with Ammy was that her launcher was kinda poopy. Very short range and really can’t do more than A.B,C,E for now. I’m sure we’ll figure out how to make it work better, though.
