I hate to double post but this thread is always so quite.
I’m learning some beastly Alex combos I’ll teach you guys when I get back. 10 hit about 85% damage with baroque, about 75% without. He can kill Karas in a single combo. He is a fucking monster and the shit is so simple.
Aye. I’m 75% sure I am moving from California to Brooklyn this summer. Can anyone give me the lowdown on the neighborhoods? I am looking for something affordable. I say that loosely because I am moving from one expensive city to another. More than likely I’ll search for shared apartments on Craigslist.
My top choices are Williamsburg and Bay Ridge. I heard Bay Ridge is very neighborly, which sounds nice and laid back for me. I heard Williamsburg is cool, grimey, and Hipster Capitol. I don’t mind that either, because I do enjoy a good time and I heard you can have a good time there–but I am not a hipster by any means.
I guess I am looking for the combo of the two. I would like something neighborly, but not too far from some fun with a 22-30 crowd. Parks are a plus.
#1: DO NOT USE CRAIGSLIST, i repeat, DO NOT USE CRAIGSLIST!!!
You won’t get your moneys worth in Williamsburg. If you want the grimeyness and still a sense of a neighborhood i would try Bushwick. Real Estate people like to call it “East Williamsburg” so they can charge you more money, but there is no such area. This is on the north side of Brooklyn everything else I am going to suggest will be on the south side of Brooklyn. Greenpoint is also nice, as is Fort Greene.
Boerum Hill (expensive), Crown Heights, Eastern Parkway Area, Sunset Park, Park Slope (expensive), South Slope, Clinton Hill (expensive), Carroll Gardens (expensive), Gowanus. These are all fairly close to Prospect Park, which to me is the best park in NYC.
Bay Ridge, Brooklyn Heights (expensive), DUMBO (expensive), Downtown Brooklyn (expensive), Red Hook, Ocean Parkway, Bensonhurst, Sheepshead Bay.
It really all depends on what kind of place you are looking for in terms of space, relation to train lines, and how much you are willing to spend. If you have a car you can probably live further away for a little cheaper, if not you might want to live off a good train line (NOT THE G LINE!!!). You can factor in other things like your nationality, if you are bilingual and the likes.
A helpful hint if you are looking for a room mate is to 1) do not get some “film maker”, “musician”, or “artist”, off of Craigslist. More then likely they have no money, and will NEVER pay rent on time. 2) do not find a room mate on craigslist peroid. You are better off moving with a friend or someone you at the very least know. But trust fund kids are always recommend. They got money!
Get a 2 bedroom (or whatever it is you are looking for) first and if you have the funds search for a room mate after. This way you can set YOUR rules. A lot of people don’t like smokers, drinkers, and the likes. It basically limits your search if you live a different lifestyle.
If you need any more help feel free to PM me, i have a couple of real estate broker friends i could suggest to you.
Wow, this is like strange. I can’t figure out how to change the skins either. That ad to the left is annoying me. ARGGGGGGGGGGG change is a cruel mistress.
So let’s get some heavy practice in. I think Mike wants to teach me a non-crappy character too. Either that or he is just sick of playing against Dan. =P Honk at cheaaaaaaaaaaaaaa bwoy!
Oh yea i might head out to that dektechnican dudes session on Saturday if he’s having one. They just play SF4 but I’m just curious to see how free they are. We can roll out there if you want. Just be nice to session at someone else’s crib for a change.
