I would have liked to have seen new characters for SSF4 rather then more recycled ones. If you wanna play Dudders, Makoto, or Ibuki why not just play 3rd Strike?
Alpha characters are cool cause ppl don’t really play Alpha (should have been Sodom instead of Cody IMO). But people still play 3rd Strike and i rarely see or fight an Ibuki player, so yea. Why would people play her now?

Also I am talking to Triforce and trying to bring other games to the Battlefield tournaments so any and all help from you guys would be very cool. I am pushing for Vampire Savior ATM. So if you can provide a PS2 and the game that would be great. I know some of you want to play it but the cab at CF is ass so I’m working on it for you guys. I can bring that little TV everytime for the setup. They are running fucking Naruto for christ sakes, VS should not be a problem.

Triforce shot down the idea. He says it’s because they are “vintage titles” but I feel there are other reasons. Mostly because EMP members don’t play these games hard body. So if the empire can’t dominate he wants nothing to do with it. MW2 is there cause Yipes plays it, Tetris because Triforce plays it, etc etc.
I mean really… Naruto, Smash, Tetris? The reason I suggested it at all is that there is 900 SF4 tournaments in the Tri-State every week. The game (to me) is very slow and boring. It has nothing to do with if I’m good at it, or play it, it’s just so over saturated.
The reason I suggested Vampire is because there is a scene for it in NYC, just no where to play it. No one spends money on it in CF cause it’s unplayable on that cab.
CVS2 because there are still a lot of people that go hard in it still and it’s a hype game. It’s fun to watch and it’s a good game.
New game tournaments keep out vet players other then those hungry for money. There is an average of 2500 ppl that view those streams, imagine the hype if you get two really players going hard in a poverty game on the stream. It would spark an intrest again.

but good point. doesnt have to be “empire/only games triforce want” tourney. maybe we should do it old school way. triforce can still help run sf4 as a tradition or whatever. and we divide rest of the work and random dudes run each tourneys(for example I run cvs2). this also depends on setups and how many CRTs we can have access to in whatever venue(I have been so out of action I dont even know where all these tourneys are held now a days). just throwing in ideas.
PS: I miss web2zone tourneys. them shits were GODLIKE! there were people from CT, philly, jersy, BOSTON just to play in random NYC tourney! :nunchuck:

While Elder God is right, and I knew was going to be an obvious problem is that most (if not all) games at Battlefield cater to those that are apart of the EMP/Arc. He says and I quote that new games, those that came out within the last two years bring out “the vets & new players”. Which is total bullshit. How many Vets other the Empire players do you really see there?
All in all my main motive for this is to hopefully give you guys a place to play and compete. There should be no reason you are forced to play on GGPO or play the same 2-3 players at random gatherings.
Snake is totally on to something and I agree with what he said 100%. Gamepad is the venue (at the moment). If we just show up with setups what’s going to stop us from running our tournaments? This is where everyone needs to help one another to make it happen. I would even be up for renting a 15 passenger van (if everyone chips in money) picking up TV’s and setups and driving everyone there.
We already have Snake willing to keep CVS under control. I’m sure Anakron would be up for lending a hand, same goes for AVC, and I am willing to help anyway I can.
I also agree with adding ST to the tournament and not that HDRemix shit. Alpha series as well.

Uh, I didn’t bring it up and don’t shit on it unless you’re blind. Like Phocus said in the previous thread, if you didn’t see most of the staff said fuck street fighter and stuff and went to play brawl and I had to run four tournaments (Marvel, 3S, GG, CvS2) 9am-7pm by myself, which I didn’t have to then you either weren’t there or are blind. Was left with no brackets and shit so shit ran slow of course. If Min didn’t offer help for the late CvS2 tournament which almost no one stayed for I would have just canceled it. The earlier tournaments ran fine so stop complaining. Aside from slowness, the only thing that happened there is that because I was the only one there, people had to report wins by themselves and someone lied about Therapist losing and when I found out I paid him his entry fee out of pocket (which later PAS compensated) and the anime club donated a $15 figurine as compensation which wasn’t necessary so stop hating. I had the whole lounge last year and could have done whatever but said fuck it since all you guys do is just cry. The tournament also had no venue fee, PAS paid for it so you didn’t have to, which wasn’t easy to do but was done for the love of gaming and the community, learn to appreciate.
Anyways, my point is, just talk to Ben/John and see when you can hold a separate tournament at the PAD, I have no reason to provide better space and now better event management software with advanced ai functionality which no other software contains for free for this community.
Anyways, talk to Ben or John, they’re cool. If you want to run a tournament with Triforce then do it, if you don’t then don’t. It really is that simple. I see no reason why you guys can’t have your own tournament.
I said dont bring anything up. that means dont post a HUGE essay on what happened. for the record I didnt care about what was going on. I just played whatever everyone else was playing in casuals(marvel lewl…).

To my knowledge (I haven’t been there in a while) they have 3-4 TV’s already. I can bring one, hopefully AVC can bring one and hopefully the MB/3s people can bring a couple too.
I am hoping that Anakron accepts my invite to be a major help in putting this all together. I am willing to put up my own money to get this started and hopefully it will be sucessful.
