Brook Universal Fighting Board Thread

Can someone tell me what the D3/D4/D5/D6 on the turbo board he has connected to the P1/P2/P3/P4 on the UFB board are for?

Also my turbo board has a “KGND” at the top of the XGUILD row. Do I need to run that to a ground somewhere? I already have the other ground hooked up and get continuity with all my ground points on the brook board.

Those are the players LEDs.
KGround is the additional ground for the Start/Select Button.

If you can stand my horrible accent I explain what those are in a video here (@2:13):

Cheers.

Dude…do people in Canada talk smack about your accent? I don’t get the repeated self-deprecation.
Most people in North America who speak English (sadly) only speak that one language. Don’t apologize for our collective ignorance

So I need to connect the Kground to get the Xlogo and turbo button to work at all?

Are the player led’s the ones around the Xlogo that light up corresponding to what player you are? I’m assuming I can just skip that

  1. No. The Kground is to be use as the ground for select and start button (back and start for X360). If you want those button being controlled by the lock switch, of course.

  2. Yes. This is a fency feature, and with the Brook board it can helps for debug (like lighting leds in a certain way to indicate it’s on firmware update mode)

OK so select and start will still work, but the lock feature for them on the turbo panel won’t?

Brook products including UFB do not function for more than 8 minutes on PS4 farm Jpn 4.50 β.
The same possibility exists with formal farm 4.50.
Still I believe that Brook will deal with it.

Nice! I think this is what I’m looking for since the board already has headers on them. So I’m guessing I have to buy the quick disconnects and crimp those harnesses myself? I think Focus Attack doesn’t sell the QD connectors by themselves since I can’t find them there. Thanks for the help so far!

It looks like you provided everything I need. The board already has the headers installed onto it, but I’ll check the other parts out. Thank you!

Thanks for the update!

For reference I personally used that kit from Focus Attack. Just need the QD’s as mentioned and you’re good to go.

Just bought a Universal Fighting Board and wired it up – looks awesome on PC! My PS4 isn’t detecting it at all, however, is this a firmware issue? I updated to the latest just now but no dice here…

what about manual mode? press 2P and connect the board to PC and PS4

With 2P held down before connecting, PC detects it as “P4 Wired Gamepad V1.6” and all the inputs seem to function fine. PS4 still doesn’t respond to any inputs from it.

edit: PS4 system version 4.07, if that matters.

mmmmmm, do you have other PS4 controllers to try?
or try other ports on PS4?
it seems to be the problem of the console…

since it can be detected by PC, and all the inputs seem to function fine, the problem is not on the board

Exactly.

Also, I asked in the BUTTHOLE thread to create a thread about my Madcatz PCB here: Best Ultimate Tech Talk Hang Out Loud Edition Season V

d3v said he was ok if there’s enought interest from the community.
So please go like the post in the BUTTHOLE thread if you are.

Sorry for hijacking the thread.

You’re completely right and it just turned out that I didn’t realize that you needed to be signed into a profile to use a controller on the PS4. Is there a plan to have a macro for the PS button? My stick currently doesn’t have a PS button and I’d need to drill a hole into my stick to install a new one. Thanks again, it’s a great product

hey guys just got my brooks board
trying to connect to windows 7 and its not working wired up my ground and my ps and select button and I cannot update any firmware

I have an xbox one driver installed i am not to sure if thats causing it.

I am also using my old sanwa atrox buttons too! But I don’t know how to test if they are not working anymore

any tips or help?

i would start by trying it on a (friends/relatives) windows 10 pc

I had an issue with my old motherboard that it would by default get recognized as an unidentified device. I was able to boot specific modes by holding down buttons though. If you hold the 3P(xbox360) or 4P(xboxone) when you plug the stick in is it recognized? What does the device manager list it as?

it comes up as controller and then says xbox one

I might try differnt PCS my computer is 6 years old so I don’t know if that would have anything to do with it
