Brook Converters Thread

Hey guys, with the drama of PS3 TE’s on PCs, would purchasing a PS3 to 360 super converter give me essentially a “360” TE to be used on the PC? Or do are these super converters no PC compatible like that?

have you tried another PC?
please make sure you have successfully uninstalled the previous driver.

They do but I believe Brooks stopped selling/supporting the ps3-360 because it lagged, a lot. You’ll need to find an InPin or Pelican adapter.

The latest firmware update instruction is now available.

the red icons under “Manual”

Can’t get it to go from Red back to blue. I install the update successfully, then I press the home button and start. The LED then glows red. I then press the L3 button down, nothing happens. I then press L3 and home button, and it goes back to purple. My controller is working fine, I have tried two different controllers. Also I have tried multiple USB ports on my computer. And I have also used left instead of L3 (not sure if that even works but you have L3/Left in the guide.)

@Chocobuny
When updated successful, please follow steps to exit mode
(1)press the home button and start
(2)press the L3 button or Left button down, don’t release L3 or Left
(3)press the home button down then released [ L3 or Left ] and [ home ] together.

Your Converter turns on led from Red back to blue and remove it.

Please go brook website to look new update instruction from [ Manual red icon ]

So, I just got my ps2-ps4 brook converter and I was wondering whether I need to download every update file individually or would downloading the most recent update just do? Thanks.

Always the most recent one! I thought the only ones you could download were the most recent ones anyway?

The only reason you would need an “older” one, would be to update the “B” type firmware, in case the adapter didn’t recognize the controller that was plugged into it, if the original firmware the adapter came with didn’t support it yet.

Okay that worked, I dunno what was different but thank you very much.

Probably the exact same problem I had. Not knowing the key combination and putting the Brook adapter into a “Loop” instead.

I’m guessing that you can put it in update mode twice in a row, without releasing it (that’s just my guess).

it’s at the (3) step
please remember to release both keys AT THE SAME TIME!!!

Note: you can hold Joystick left and then press home as long as left joystick is still held down. <—. They don’t have to be activated at the exact same time (like a break or excel/vtrigger mode in street fighter), but both must be registered together.

I personally think it’s easier to do it in a nice smooth motion. 1) press and keep home held down and press start.
2) Press and keep L3/Joystick Left direction held down and press Home. :slight_smile: very easy!

I like how the instructions are described by others as ‘combos’. And I personally also hold ‘left’ and then press ‘home’. A lot easier then trying to simultaneously depress at the same time since you only have the LED and a status change on the application and device manager to let you know what mode you’re adapter is in.

Only other thing Brooks’ can do is add audible cues or have the info graphics represent a live status (only show the current next-step of the 3 steps). Idk if Brooks can update their application or adapter firmware to make it a one step process.

You can always build a better mouse trap but the world will make a smarter/dumber mouse.

Updates without the need of a controller are coming, including a version for Mac OS

Brooks just destined for more fgc success

Yes, easy updated without controller, only one click to do.

So, couldn’t find a manual so I’m asking here: Anyone know how to use the touchpad emulation for sticks without right-stick support? All I really care about is being able to simulate a touchpad button press.

@studtrooper
Unfortunately, if you don’t have right-stick, only simulated touchpad pressed down function.
Go Brook website to look at every converter’s product features.

Since one of the features of the newest update is listed as “Improve reaction time”, does anyone know how much of an improvement this converter is now? I have the white ps3 to ps4 converter, personally. I know teyah.net did some great tests and I tweeted to him a while ago but no reply.
