Brook Converters Thread

Thank you

So which one do we download? I see XBOX 360 to PS4 20160407 and (OPTIONAL!)XBOX360 to PS4 20160407 with the optional stating it’s to Accommodate PS4 3.15 version - which I assume is a typo.

  1. If you have installed driver before, just go through firmware A & B.
  2. Yes
  3. Download the latest firmware, and do update

Hi Everyone,

I have the 360/One to PS4 converter and have been waiting for the 3.50FW fix before updating and testing it out.

The question I have is which controller do you connect when updating as the guide shows a PS4 controller connected ?

Is this correct as I thought you would need to connect a 360/One controller with this converter model ?

And lastly as I will be using the Xbox Elite Controller, do I also need to update the B file ?

Any help would be much appreciated

Hi all,

Can anyone confirm whether or not the the lime green (Xbox360 to PS4) converter and/or the green (Xbox360/ONE to PS4) converter work with an Arcade in a Box fight stick (wired for 360) for use on the PS4?

This alone is going to determine whether or not I can get into SF5 or not. Much thanks in advance.

Ohh… I’ll try that thanks! Well actually, I’ll test 8 minutes session by 8 minutes session until the update

If the USB adapter is flashed with a firmware from November 2015 and newer, you can use the fightstick’s joystick (which maps to the Dpad) in place of the L3 button.
if the stock firmware is older than 11/15, I don’t know how to do it with a fightstick instead of an actual PS4 controller. You can use the “B” version firmware to update the device without a game controller plugged into it, then once it’s updated to a 11/15+ firmware, you can then use the joystick in place of the L3 button:

  1. Press Start+Home (converter will turn red)
  2. hold the joystick on the fightstick in a direction.
  3. Press Home while still holding the joystick.

This should put the adapter into “update” mode.

The same sequence releases it.

BTW Start+home is how you put the adapter in customization mode.

I have the Lime Green Xbox 360 to PS4 converter and have been using it just fine for the past month with my Xbox 360 Marvel vs Capcom Tournamnet Fighting Stick (wired). Though since the latest PS4 firmware update, I’m getting the 8 min timeout on the stick but apparently there’s a new Firmware for the converter that should fix it again.

Yes, you can use your Xbox Elite Controller to do firmware update, just follow the illustration while you open up firmware.

So here’s my question. It seems like Sony is purposefully breaking compatibility with these converters with each update, otherwise I’m not sure why it keeps breaking? I am not sure how its working on the technical side, but it seems to be a game of cat and mouse where Brooks is finding ways to trick the PS4, and then Sony is finding ways to patch those tricks.

Eventually, won’t the cat and mouse game run out when Sony creates a solution that breaks the converters for good? It feels like its inevitable if this is really what is going on.

Thanks for fast reply Brook_Engineer

Any ETA on the new firmware to accommodate the new Sony update? Using the lime green 360 > PS4 and all download links seem to be broken/missing on Brook’s site?

@Brook_Engineer

I have seen this video and it does not work. As I said before when it asks to connect the adapter and I plug it in it the screen does not change. It remains at the connect device screen.

Remember to turn your anti virus off

is the new firmware for the white ps3 to ps4 converter out? i don’t see the file on the website.

I see the file, but I’m not sure how to apply the update.

GOGO.Zippy has posted the procedure several times: you have to install the USB drivers first, then you plug the adapter and run the firmware updater, “A” version.

If you have problems with your PS3 controller, that is, the adapter doesn’t register inputs, try updating with the complementary firmware “B” (you have to run the file as an Administrator to make it work), and you are done.

@RenzokuFC

Do you mean the the zenUsb drivers? If you do then I have done that and it still doesn’t connect. If you don’t then what USB drivers?. I am using a ps4 controller if that makes any difference.
Thanks

I didn’t know I had to search this thread for instructions on how to update the driver.
My mistake.
