Brook Converters Thread

So I just got 2 Red Brook Converters (PS3/PS4 -> XB1) and I attempted to update the firmware. I’m not having much luck with it though.

I tried different USB ports and 3 different PCs, but none of my attempts have been successful. I followed the instructions. I updated the driver on the USB Device from Device Manager to use the Zero Plus driver supplied with the firmware. The Brook converter is registering as an Xbox One Controller. I then ran the “A” update executable as an administrator. But when the update window pops up, I get nothing but “Please plug in a controller”.

I’ve tried several controllers including FightSticks and official PS4 pads but I can never get passed that prompt.

I also tried updating a couple of White Brook Converters (PS3 -> Xbox 360) and that firmware updater won’t go past the screen that says press SELECT + PS Button. I don’t know if that’s related at all but another issue nonetheless.

Any ideas?

I’m on Windows 10 with the Anniversary Update. I was using this firmware for the Reds “PS3PS4toXBOXONE_V15_20160222” and this firmware for the Whites “UniversalFightingBoard_V18_201609”.

Hello all.
I just got my X1 to PS4 Converter. The update was kinda wonky but it works.
But i just cant get the touchpad emulation to work. I press the left view button as indicated and then the right stick ( i am using a Xone Elite Controller) but nothing happens.

  1. what about you just press the view button?
  2. did you go to Device and Printers to check if all keys of your Elite controller work fine?

Stick: Qanba Q4RAF (2x)

Sooo I got a Yellow PS3 to PS4 brooks in the mail the other day and recently found out it needs to be updated.

I read through the thread trying to find my issue (I would also like clarification if it is true that the current build does not require a firmware update and all it needs is to have the driver installed), but here it goes:

  1. Executable A stays in “Please Plug in Controller” screen, even with controller plugged it.
  2. I try to do the next steps anyways and I am able to change the lights on the converter to red by pressing Start and Home, but can’t get it to change to Purple by pressing Home and Left.
  3. Window still says “Please plug in Controller” anyways despite all this.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Yes the view Button alone as Touch Works fine. But in the Manual it sais you can jse view+right thumbstick to emulate the Touch movement? Or what does it mean?

the right touchpad got different reaction in different games, so it depends on the game you play

which version did you try to do?
just try to do the latest version without connecting your controller to the converter when you are going to do firmware update

@Brook_Engineer

I have tried to update to the latest (September) firmware on 2 different PC’s now, using different USB ports. The same thing happens everytime, I open the program and it immediately freezes (not responding). I do not have a controller plugged in. The converter is white colored, and the blue LED’s light up when I plug it in. These do not change color.

This seems to happen with every update, it is a real struggle to get it working. Not sure what to do.

Hi everyone! Sorry if my question was posted before in thread… but didn’t find it.
I want to acquire a pair of ‘Xbox 360/Xbox ONE to PS4 Super Converter’ because I have a MadCatz TE Round 2 and a Madcatz VS fightstick, both for Xbox360 (I use to play local matches too).

My main target is playing SFV on PS4 with these xbox360 sticks… but I also want to know if I can play on PS4 with Xbox ONE wireless controllers (no bluetooth) if I get an official ‘Xbox wireless adapter for Windows 10’.

I read somewhere that I can play on PS4 with 360 wireless controllers if I own the ‘Brook Super Converter + Xbox360 official wireless adapter for PC’ (the old one)… but I don’t know if I can do that with the new Xbox One adapter for PC. Could it be possible?? Thx!!!

Finally, I supose that you couldn’t test a PS4 Pro yet… but do you think that ‘Xbox 360/Xbox ONE to PS4 Super Converter’ will be compatible with PS4 Pro?

Thanks in advance and sorry for the inconvenience!!! :smile:

I’m having issues connecting my Xbox One S controller using the X1 to PS4 adapter. will this be resolved anytime soon or am I doing something wrong?

@daftswooze
We already solved it … Testing right now.
If you wanted beta version, please contact with @Brook_Engineer

Thanks

Hey can you look at my problem above? I’ve now tried 4 PC’s, same freezing issue on all of them.

I have sent a message for two ago. please check your inbox message and reply

@Chocobuny and all Guys

Please look there is a sticker on the back side of the ( PS4 series) converters and tell us if the date is later than 2016/04.

If the date is later than 2016/04, please download the firmware update on our website directly.

There is no date on mine, but I know this must be an earlier one because I bought this from you guys before you guys even had a proper store.

Anyways, I tried using the older update, but when trying to switch to update mode it wouldn’t respond. So I just tried the new update again and it worked this time.
I have no idea what changed, I definitely didn’t update the firmware or anything, so I’m not sure why this bugs out so much. I have problems with every update. I guess the solution is just to keep trying and it will randomly work?

@Chocobuny
Please use correct file to update. Because every converters owned different patch file to do.
What file and converter to do?

Sorry hope I made it clear that the problem is fixed. I successfully updated using the latest firmware. I just don’t know why it wasn’t working yesterday, but now it works today. Either way I can confirm it 100% works now.

Firmware 2016-09 is working ok on my PS3->PS4 adapter

  1. Uninstall the zero labs driver:
    Devices and Printers > Wired PS4 Controller > Click on “Zero Labs Driver” in the list to highlight it > “Properties” button > “Driver” tab > “Uninstall” button

If the “Uninstall” button is greyed out, try the “Change settings” button in the “General” tab after clicking on the “Properties” button.

  1. Upgrade to the older firmware (2016-06) as mentioned above. I used the TE version.

  2. Upgrade using the 2016-09 drivers. As well, I used the TE version.

This last step is very buggy. I only gotten it to work after 4 attempts. It would freeze or flicker, and I would have to close the program and try again. I remember inserting the adapter between 2 different USB slots or forgetting my arcade stick or ps3 gamepad connected in the adapter during the 2016-09 update attempts which may contributed to the 5th attempt working

@fohstick

  1. If your stick or gamepad work well with your converter, don’t click compatible controller updated.

  2. During updating process, please don’t plug your stick or gamepad in Brook converter .
