Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad has a habit of starting scenes with shots from the perspective of holes and inanimate objects.

Here is, to the best of my recollection, all of them.

Best Shit Ever!

I just finished watching S4 a few weeks ago. I have to say that season 4 was amazing. However, I don’t think the overall series is that great. S1- S3 were not very impressive on their own, even though they are vital to the events & circumstances in S4. I just think the show was very underwhelming, especially all the hype it has received. The character development of Jesse was most impressive. The rise, fall and decay of Walt was both unrealistic (I know it’s a TV show), but it really bothered me how they developed his character. Similar to the way that Dexter bothers me.

The most enjoyable character was definitely Gus. I liked the saga about his past and when he was introduced into the series. I hate how his accent varied from episode to episode, and the more they revealed his latin background, the thicker his accent got.

Since i’ve committed to watching the show, I am already pot-committed to S5. Hopefully the writers end it well. I’m glad AMC at least gave them the opportunity to FINISH the series.

Overall I’d give the series a B+. It’s a lot better than most shows on tv. I think AMC has a winner in mad men, however. That’s probably the best show on TV. Period.

Indeed, that video is one of the best things I’ve ever seen.

for 2nd best show ever

[details=Spoiler]Amazing finale, Walt poisoning Brock (or at least the show leading us to think so) totally took me by surprise, and no yall wrong about dat head gleam, Gus simply realized Jesse might be trying to get him away from his car long enough for Walter to plant a bomb…which is what happened. Of all the people in the world Gus is the last person anyone should be surprised to see have that kind of foresight.

At 24 seconds notice Huell’s left hand:wow:

S5 predictions:
-Walt dies
-Hank finds out Walt is Heisenberg but keeps it to himself
-Walt will try to tell Walt Jr. about his cooking but he’ll say “I know dad…I’ve known for a while”
-Cartels get greedy and try to kidnap Walt and/or Jesse
-Mike sacrifices himself for Jesse
-Walt replaces Gus
-Jesse never finds out Walt poisoned Brock or at least not until after he dies
-Beneke somehow fucks over the White family

It makes sense to me.

When a person is bilingual and has full command of their accent like Gustavo is, depending on the social situation and setting they will choose to more heavily accent or not to better assimilate.

When talking to the police, he will be, “Hello, yes sir, madame.”

But gets all chicano when he taunts Salamanca, “ECTORRR. Your familia es dead!”

He gets rid of his accent when he deals with the police, but goes full accent when talking business with Mexican mafia.

It is kind of like how black people around black friends might talk hood, but when they have to show up at the office will probably not talk the same in the boardroom meeting.

I kind of agree with Walt though. At first he seemed like a real decent person doing shady stuff only because he was trying to protect him or his family. Slowly the guy from season 1 that you felt sorry for, just completely went 180 over time and is not much different from Gustavo.

This gives them a lot of wiggle room. So many possibilities abound with a mid-season finale instead of just a weekly stream of eps.

I dig it. Maybe it’ll give the final season(s) more of a season 1 feel, where they were tearing ass through story material with a constant clear direction. That feel dissipated from the show somewhat from the otherwise riveting last couple seasons.

Breaking Bad, season 5 details: the season premiere will be on July 15. There will be eight episodes, then a pre-planned hiatus, followed by eight more episodes the following summer.

I would guess that the story arc will be structured with the gap in mind, while still minding the fact that it is intended as all one season. Call it an extended intermission.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Ugh. A year for the final 8 eps? Why? I love BrBa, but that’s stretching the wait too damn much.

Yeah they’re doing what The Sopranos did in their final season. I can’t say I’m in support but I’m not really angered by it.

I will be upset once we see whatever that mid-season finale is supposed to be and then the show cuts off to the dramatic cliffhanger.

Cyber-Gustavo powered by Madrigal Electromotive Technologies: “Hello Mr.White, the end is near…”

This was mentioned awhile ago. Like last year.

IIRC, it wasn’t explicitly said it would take a whole year to air the second half of the eps. I thought it would be a short break, like you see with so many other shows that halve a 12+ ep season.

King Walter White in his throne room.

At the center of the composition: Walter White.

At the very, very center of the composition: Walter White’s nuts.

I’ve been rewatching the show lately (again!), and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what Gilligan, Cranston, Paul, and Co. bring us in the home stretch.

Walter White will win

I just hope that Walter dies in the end. Motherfucker has to die.

After what he did last season the writers successfully made me lose respect for him. Sad part though is I still sympathize for his family…but I sympathize more for myself because I have to wait a year to see 8 #@$$@# episodes.
