Just ran into this quote, which sums things up pretty well:

Alot of shit went down in earlier reasons due to Walt having to save Jesse’s ass numerous times. That whole Jane drama was a lose-lose situation that could’ve been avoided entirely if Jesse hadn’t have fucked up
Yeah Jesse is responsible for Jane falling off the wagon, which lead to all the crap that culminated in Walt letting her die. Jesse fucks everything up.
Jesse sold his boy out for some heroin and cooch. I feel less empathetic about Jane’s death after watching the series again. Jesse would no doubt have died from an overdose if she’d stayed alive
I wish they brought back chemist walt one last time before the credits roll. It would be satisfying if walt used his chemistry knowledge to blow up uncle jacks spot or grey matter hq.
He didn’t respect the golden rule, “bros before ho’s”. He got what he deserved.
One last defense of Jesse…
lets not forget Walt ditched the clearly more stable, skilled, and reliable Gale for Jesse (the first time when Walt and Gale would have been partners, not later when Walt had made an enemy of Gus, so Gale was out to replace Walt). Walt had a distribution network beyond anything Jesse could have ever provided, which was the whole reason he partnered with Jesse in the first place, but he still choose Jesse so he could always have someone to shit on.
Oh I’m not saying Walt is a saint, unlike some of our more sociopathic posters. He’s an asshole, and his soft spot for eternal fuck-up Jesse is what led to his downfall and everything spiraling out of control as it has.
This is a show about assholes who dig their own graves, either through hubris or incompetence.
WRONG.
Walt just did that so the whiny little rat (thanks Uncle Jack) didn’t shit up all of the Gus operation, including Mike, Gus and Walt.
No he didn’t. He clearly loathed working with someone close to his equal. Rewatch his first cooks with Gale. Walt wears his annoyance with him on his sleeve.
I think too many of you guys distill Walt’s motivations to what Walt says his motivations are.
So, after this Sunday, it’ll be… over. No more.
With the hype of this season, that reality took a while to get to me. But it’s setting in. I might just OD on internet shows post-finale, because I just don’t know what to do TV-wise when this is over. I literally have one or two TV shows I care about other than this, and not even enough to watch them when they air.
After this show I can finally start catching up on SOA
