This is all I’ve thought about the past like 3 episodes. I just keep imagining Moe saying “Just waste your damn family already” to Homer in the Shinning episode.
Everything is very well written so it all makes character sense. Walt just cares too much for his family to kill everyone and become Gus. Still though, imagine if he just killed Jesse when Gus said and the show just became a spin off of him and Gale hanging out Fraiser style.
I agree; Dexter was never as good as any of the G.O.A.T shows to begin with. Still, we know a significant part of the nose dive is because any show would run out of stuff to do with 8 seasons behind it.* Do you think BB would’ve crashed and burned if AMC stretched it?
*Not defending Dexter in the least, though. The writers seem smug and arrogant as they present the turd we now know as Dexter Season 8 to us.
Dexter is good up til Season 5. Just watch the first four seasons and stop.
Season 4 is really good. Season 1 is also very well done. Anything after that and you are just wasting your time if you are watching for sheer quality. If you just like Dexter and Michael whatever his name is, well good on you.
When I originally saw the first season I loved it but after about season 2 or 3 I think it was it just lost me. One of those shows that started out good but went to shit after they used up all the good ideas.
overall, i’m a guy that appreciates short series if there’s an actual ending (not an ending due to cancellation a la Deadwood, Carnivàle, etc.). it would be possible to extend BB, i don’t know about 3 extra seasons though. i’d add maybe half a season to get some more back story for some of the characters like Gus and Lydia.
kudos to that cinematographer. he totally hid Krysten Ritter’s feet. real talk, that poor girl has ET’s hands for feet. she’s so amazing looking until you go lower than the knees. tragedy :sad:
Dexter’s fatal flaw was that the writers did their hardest to make him relatable/likeable. when you take that stance all you’re doing is writing yourself into a corner- and in the end, your prize is having the average viewer say “awwww, serial killers are people too-” and that’s stupid as fuck because nobody really believes they are because they are not. *Dexter *should be a study of intelligent psychopaths with homicidal urges, but instead we get an intelligent psychopath with homicidal urges trying to “fit in” and be “normal;” and that whole murdering people aspect is overlooked because we’re being told “they are worse than him” which is as much a lie as it is irrelevant.
The woman who owns the White’s house in real life says she has to deal with motherfuckers always coming to that house and throwing a pizza on her roof. I fucking died when I read that.

Tonight is Breaking Bad Todd edition, he was told he was a loser and fails with the ladies, after he fails to impress Lydia with his upgraded batch product and his imprison lab tech gimp Jesse, Todd losses his sanity over the continued semi passive spurs from Lydia and decides he is going to rule the roost.
The next 30 mins of the show is Todd being gunned down by the neo nazis and Todd himself cursing himself over having lacking the most rudimenary control over a firearm.
