It definitely won’t finish as the biggest robbery this year, it was very close and I was almost expecting another draw.

lol u know the judges wanted another draw but them asians and mexicans would riot up in that bitch.

the difference between a “robbery” and a “close fight”

Robbery - one fighter “clearly won” but was “robbed” of a victory.

Close fight - both fighters made their statement and it was up to the judges. Marquez countered, Pacquiao flurried, a knockdown was scored and it went to the cards.

This fight could had gone either way.

Magus - you post on boxingscene? whats your screen name

-One judge had it for Pac

-One judge had it for Marquez

-The last judge had it a Draw, “But” the knockdown made the difference.

114-114 = draw

114-113 = fighter won because of a knockdown point. both fighters won “six” rounds a piece

Couldn’t resist.

man, i thought marquez had it by a round but it could have went either way. Judges should have gave it to marquez so we could have seen part three of this match up, now we will probably not relive a battle between these two again.

Also fire lederman, I think has he forgotten how to score rounds. Looking at his scorecard on not just this but other fights makes me sick.

damn this is a very great fight… im pacman’s fan but it could have gone either way… frankly i think i dont want another fight between them since marquez is also too good. haha

That’s probably true only because Marquez is getting older. At age 34, he’ll start losing a lot of power and speed. My guess is that if they do fight and he loses again, he will retire.

Anyone notice how Pacquiao has put his previous two fighters into retirement (Barrera and Morales). It’s just like Ippo!

Pacquiao fought the three best fighters from his era: Barerra, Marquez, Morales = 5-1-1

That is why he he among the best pound for pound.

Pacquiao is going in a first ballot hall of fame. Bererra and Morales will go in first ballot, as for Marquez, he will go in as well.

Naseem Hamed ducked all three of these fighters and got exposed by Barerra when they fought.

I really feel bad for the Marquez brothers. Rafael and Juan Marquez both lost their fights by “one” point and it was a knockdown that made the difference.

EDIT: who is ippo?

I have yet to see the fight but damn he put good work into Pacquiao. Shady that he lost by a point but thats how it is in sports. I know Terrible beat em but who else has beaten Pacquiao and that other draw?

I just downloaded the fight. you can find it online. I’m looking forward to watching it again and score it now that I’m calm. it’s hard to score a fight live, its like going on a emotional rollercoster ride.

I’ll see you guys on the Hopkins vs. Calzaghe fight

The main character of Hajime no Ippo – the greatest boxing anime ever.

Make sure you train yourself to limit how many you read per day because I got hooked on that shit and read for 18 hours straight.

His other losses were from early on in his career before he got famous. I believe both of them have already retired from boxing but Pacquiao would obliterate them anyhow.

great technical fight for pac vs marquez 2, the fans definitely got their money’s worth. Mad drama till the end I thought, the scores proved it.

there should be an uneven amount of boxing rounds so these possible draws are out the window.

I missed Pacquiao’s fight I didn’t think it was airing on uk tv but it aired on Sentana sports I think, I will have to download it sometime.

That is the reason why I respect him as a fighter. As for Naseem I dispise him he has a big mouth yet the moment he lost a match he called it a day and left the scene.

I’ve never been hugely into boxing, but I watched a bunch of Thomas Hearns matches lately and I had a question for you guys. Is he the only prominent boxer who used his specific fighting stance and abused the flicker jab so well? I love watching that, but I always wonder how well that style would work for someone who didn’t have such a great height and reach advantage.

Also, I wish I had started watching matches much earlier. It’s actually a really fun, technical sport to follow.

Naw a lot of people do that, and don’t call it a flicker jab

this fight was definately worth the money. IMO it comes close to hagler/hearns if you compare nowadays fighting style to the other era. ALthough hagler/hearns is a full out brawl this was very good as well.

Also Marquez was boxing skills in this fight were the best ive seen him. He was counter punching like a beast and hardly missing, if this was the case with another boxer he would have tko’ed easily but pacquiao is crazy good and can take hard punches.

Anyone read the wiki entry for Naseem Hamed? It makes him look like clean fighter. Whoever wrote that really enjoys hugging Naseem’s nuts.
