and sorry for not giving much input, only one i really talked to was louie cuz he plays balrog too. i just didn’t feel comfortable yet since i haven’t played in casuals for a while. next time i’ll try to talk more.

Players that both want to face each other could be tossed into the same subgroup at first, and then scrambled as the night goes on. If they both stay on the same station, they could be kept together if they want to play more. I assume everyone would want to play someone like ShadyK though, so you’d just have to make sure one person’s preference is no more important than anyone else’s.
I think you misunderstood what I meant by a team format, though. I didn’t mean something like Bar Fights or Evo, where people play until they’re eliminated - I wouldn’t want that for casuals either. I meant having each person on a team play each person from the other team once, or twice with rematches. So the best player and the worst player in a group would both have exactly 4 matches or exactly 8 matches per run.
Good reactions are extremely valuable, but I always wonder how much of a person’s reactions come from reading their opponent. It’s just easier to react to a situation when you’re mentally prepared for it. It might look like Shady’s just walking forward sometimes, but he’s also looking for a jump in, and he’s conveniently holding the first input for an SRK.
Doing a best of 3 could take too long. No matter what, if you want rematches there’s going to be a trade-off with the number of different people you face. It could also cause different stations to finish at very different times. Besides, there’s no reason to determine a true winner in casuals anyway.
Next session is not gonna be time based so if you guys wanna just run the round robin TWICE and just have one switch period during the day I don’t think that would be a bad idea for instance everyone at each station plays one two out of three with everyone discussing match ups in between and then running it again it will take longer with the same people etc it’s one Idea
or maybe we can end it early and get those rematch’s in normal style casuals. also i knwo FOR SURE I’m starting the actual round robin at stations @ 9pm instead of 8 because lots of people were still showing up from 8-9 and the people that show up like 9:15 to 9:30 will just have to run it gauntlet style. so from 7:30-9 while setting up we can have casuals or in this time you could go find people that you wanna play certain matches with etc.
I dunno or maybe we could just leave the first style format and try it again. hopefully getting in more discussion and then if there is a rematch you really wanna do Just run it when everyone is done.
Also there were more then 40 people wednesday and I know that some people don’t check srk and what not. but I mean there is just to many people at the house I wanna do 5 set ups 8 a piece that’s 40 people NO MORE if the list gets full and everyone shows up and stays You just cant get in.
as far as the team Idea I don’t really care for it , the splitting in 2 groups of 4 idea Is not bad but I still personally would rather play 7 diff people even if its not consistent practice it’s a little more random (like me). which is generally how a big tourny is. But i do see the point in rematches and I also think during these sessions you should take time to find a couple people that you wanna train with and play online or next time there are casuals etc.

This system is designed for tournament consistency.
If winning is important to you, Weds nights shouldn’t be your only day of practice. (attend crack sessions on other nights playing ft100 with your rivals imo)
I played shadyK prolly a little under a 100 games before BF2 quals.
Use this night to practice as if you were in a tournament.

I create station assignments out of the RSVP and post the Station assignments the day of the event.
That way, all players know where to go and we can start clean.
Then I save this list and start creating a new one about 5-10mins before the next round.
If people come late - I let them play at their assigned station. If time runs out, there’s always next hour =)

- Listening
- Seeing
- Touch/Experience
I know some people like to just play and figure stuff out on your own…
But some of you need to hear it (someone telling you strats)
And the rest of you just need to see it.
