It seems like the Stinkmeiner episode will pick up this season BIG TIME. I’ve enjoyed the episodes so far and they have been funny but i can see why people aren’t on the boondocks wagon much.
I got my mom to finally watch an episode of the boondocks last night. Of all episodes it just HAAAAAAAAD to be the one. We got into a huge argument. She said the show should be banned. Not allowed to air on T.V. because of the use of the N word. I told her she missed entirely what the episode was about. Sure this guy sings songs about coons and jiggaboos but at the end of it all he ended up finding an African American he connected with and that maybe all black people aren’t what he hates.
She kept her closed mindedness and said it should be banned still refusing to see the point. So what did I do?
I called her a ******.
I honestly didn’t like it either
That was the best moment of this episode. I 'd so hard watching it.
Your mother hopefully broke out her rolling pin and broke your disrespectful jaw right after.
racist episode had its parts. Was funny ^^ and lol that wouldn’t been a black mother.
Nah, she called me tar-baby then we ate dinner.
I don’t get what the big deal is or why she was so butthurt. Its satire. I throw around the N word all the time. Its just a damn word. It only has power if you give it power. My friends call me ****** and I call them the [insert racial slur here] its not that big of a deal.
Yeah it only has power if you give it power but it just makes you look like a jackass if you’re throwing out the word like its nothing.

this new season is stupid as hell - they need to shape up soon, 4 mediocre episodes in a row…
It’s a generational thing; she has probably seen and experienced more in your face racism in her day than you will ever see in your lifetime so her reaction is understandable. My parents grew up during the height of the civil rights movement in the deep south; the things they went through simply because of the color of their skin I will probably never fully comprehend.
I also agree that black people who throw the n-word around like confetti sound and look dumb as hell.
“Fuck you Robert and everyone that lives in your house.”
“Hey there, you’ve reached Uncle Ruckus, white folks leave a message, black folks, leave town”
Yes!
My favorite line of the episode.
Songs in the key of Coon.
Good episode. I liked the riff on Johnny Rebel.
God bless White Guilt.
Giving the black man an easy trolling method since the 1970’s
Like 90% of this website. Sorry to put you on blast, SRK.
I really liked that episode, that was one of the most oddly heartwarming stories about two racists recognizing their common love of music and, uh, racism that I’ve ever seen. (Never mind that it’s the only story I’ve ever seen that fits that description.)
I am a white guy who likes to play the white-guilt card in a slightly hyperbolic way (I like to think of myself as the Uncle Ruckus of white people), but this episode didn’t really make me terribly uncomfortable. I had a pretty good idea where it was going and so the language didn’t really make me squirm. (Mostly I was impressed by the quality of the music, whoever it was doing Jimmy Rebel’s voice could sing pretty well. I do have to wonder what he thought about the lyrics he was asked to sing, though…)
Ever since the first episode, I think Macgruder and this series he’s created have done a good job of sending a message without coming down too hard or too light on either side of racial issues. He takes both black America and white America to task pretty well for their respective ethical/social stumbling blocks and deficiencies without seeming too bitter or too ham-fisted. (Yes, that includes the Obama episode.)
I honestly think this show is one of the most genuinely clever cartoons I’ve ever watched, and that includes (better) anime. It’s a shame it has to end, but it’s pretty much guaranteed to end on a high note.
I feel like Aaron McGruder is trolling everyone.
