There are widespread rumors that this show [“The Hunger Strike”] and a second episode titled, “The Uncle Ruckus Reality Show” have been banned from airing due to threatened litigation from BET. The episodes are said to specifically attack BET President, Reggie Hudlin, who ironically is also an Executive Producer on The Boondocks.

Hudlin has a credit on the show but he doesn’t do anything for it. It’s a legal thing. He and McGruder had a falling out early on.
McGruder openly hates BET, always has.
Reggie Hudlin… is… um, how should I put this… quite, a character… He writes the Black Panther comic and does things like making Doctor Doom bordelrine racist despite the fact that Doctor Doom is supposed to be in love with Storm… Storm and Black Panther were married specifically because of his urging that there weren’t enough Black characters married in comics (here he has a point). Some of his quotes when people attack his work go something like “Only white people care about continuity because they can’t handle a powerful Black Superhero!” and “Reading comics in the store is a white people only privelege!”
Well as a Latino I can’t really say how right or wrong he is, only I’m a continuity nut myself and I’m not white… I got a huge stack of Milestone comics so I can handle powerful Black characters fine lol! On other things he says I guess it’s not my place to comment. His comic does have fans but I just figure I’m not his target audience, like he’s not writing for some nerd that actually knows that Doctor Doom loves Storm I guess.
Not for nothing though but the way he speaks and the crap that winds up on BET, I dunno something doesn’t match up. Though I suppose he has to eat too…
