So I’ve been reading that Boondocks(2) is mainly done my Studio MOI and Sony, not MADHOUSE. This is confusing, considering certain scene near the end of the trailer didn’t look like anything MOI or Sony has ever done. Thoughts or opinions?

Wow well based on this I can kinda see why Madhouse wasn’t - or isn’t? - in the mix. It’s a confusing conjecture but here goes.
When I watched The Health Inspector episode after Stinkmeaner Monday - for comparison purposes, I already got the DVD - I noticed that the animation was not up to par with the S2 episodes, even though I felt like the animation from S1 was hot shit to begin with.
For example, when Huey was talking to Jazmine after hanging up the phone he looked like he was 18, heightwise. I mean, he was tall as hell.
Tom looked slightly different, especially in his eyes. No, not Stinkmeaner’s eyes lol. He has more anime-esque eyes in S2 than in S1.
Sarah, well, I guess she’s getting the extreme makeover look every season.
It’s funny because the changes are so subtle yet so…obvious. Gradually, the animation gets better and better but and the same time looks…the same? I dunno. Maybe I’m comparing it to other cartoon sitcom shows like Family Guy, Simpsons, Futurama, and South Park, all of which started off mediocre in the artistic perspective but eventually found its budget lol.
That’s my 2 cents.
One thing that bugs me about this show is how they are constantly talking over each other. Throw in the random song/music and sound effects on top of that and it gets really hard to hear who is saying what.
Also, although it had a lotta funny moments the Stinkmeaner 2 episode was kind of disappointing to me.
I actually felt the same way Voodaz. It was too weird of an episode even for Boondocks. Grandpa shouldn’t be that crazy. He was just old in the comics and out of touch. Now he’s on myspace taking the nastiest photos ever? Don’t go too far McGruder.
And as far as the blending in of sounds, yeah I’ve had that problem too. I guess it’s like real life: sometimes you just don’t be hearin’ a nigga. Too many sounds n’ shit.
How is Robert any different from his last season’s incarnation? If anything, this should’ve been a complaint since last season then, since all the characters are gross exaggerations of their syndicated selves.
I guess the only reason why Aaron McGrudger never went this far in comics was because editors would never tolerate it. The dude is quite aloof in his interviews so doesn’t surprise me.
Well it does replicate “life” in a sense, Gainax productions do that alot, but I think the layering sometimes can be difficult. Sound editing is a really difficult job and is usually hit or miss on things like that.
