Also, I am fairly certain that my team is the best possible Nova team. Though I will switch Sent out for certain matchups.
I’m working on a matchup chart for you guys. I’m sure alot of it is wrong/off as I don’t have the breadth of experience I would need yet, but I wanted to get it out there for us to hash out and get discussion started.
He’s a player that appeared tonight on WNF.
Not too sure to be honest, commentators weren’t exactly keeping track of this stuff. They didn’t even know when the loser and winner’s finals started. Hopefully someone puts up a list with the placements. Richard Nguyen (aka Dickwin with Dick Ryder) took it though with Vergil/Dante/Nova and Fanatiq took 2nd place with MSS.
Hmm… Not gonna talk bad about Nguyen, but I think his team would be better without Nova as the anchor. The easy replacement is Magnus. Magnus is a much better Solo character than Nova (imo) and is still an amazing anchor.

Aww man… did a little bit of Nova’s j.:h: loop in training tonight. What a rush! I think if I actually get the timing down I may not be the worst fighting game player in existance.
No one’s the worst fighting game player if they put work into it. Remember Jocelet, don’t give up! It says so right under your name! Live by that code and you’ll be a winner in everyone’s eyes.

my xbox died during a match just straight up froze
the worst part is that i was so into my nova combo i was pressing buttons like 3-4 seconds after the game stoped moving
only to be like “oh”
“well fuck”
That’s how I practice. I will turn off the sound and close my eyes, this makes sure that the combo is actually muscle memory and not reliant on visual or audio cues. Lets me focus more on the match.
There are some combo’s where you need those cues though…

I dont think Nova beats Ammy or Hawkeye. I think Against Ammy its more 4-6 and HawkEye 3-7. I think Hawkeye is a real bad matchup for Nova

I think Sentinel Nova is one of his better matchups. Outside of Hard Drive, Sentinel can’t seem to get out of onslaughts of Energy Javelins.
Nemesis seems tough, though. You try to get close, he has Deadly Reach. You try to zone him out, you eat Rockets that do like 150k.
My logic there is that Hawkeye must pick which part of the screen to zone. If you call an assist and AD at him he can’t cover both spots like Taskmaster can. Also, Hawkeye doesn’t do well at superjump height and Nova can Dive from there. Also, He has no answer to Drones+Human Rocket. Drones+Rocket gives Nova a free in against most characters.
Sent does have some tools though, which is why I put it at 6-4, you very well might be right though.
As for Nemesis, I don’t really know much about that matchup, so that was kind of a guess.
Oh I was thinking about this on a One on One Basis. Everyone can have an assist to help against unfavorable matches.
But that’s still someting you gotta take into account.
Even one on one Human Rocket is a real threat against Hawkeye.

Nova has more than 4 disadvantaged matchups, I can tell you that much.
Solo I think he has quite a few, but with his team I think he matches up favorable against most other characters with their teams.

agree, this 6-4 or 7-3 thing its not very representative in a game where you are facing teams, MUs in marvel series are very dynamic, too many variables to take into account imo.
