For X factor level three his speed is insane, but you can just num the insanity down by using the centurion M loop. Hands down, makes using lvl 3 X factor Nova way easier.
I’ve got more…
I’m taking a small break, I’l probably finish up and put out Ep 5 and 6 near the end of the weak. At least one will be Nova related…
I’m also working on a full Nova breakdown, but that might be a bit longer.
Quick question does nova have a high hitting assist?
Yep. It’s the one where he does his Medium Centurion.
Personally, I think he’s pretty crappy. He really needs an assist for his neutral game, and his beam hyper is just terrible, so you can’t do the Akuma thing.
He functions very well in the first or Second slot, but I like him on point because of how much he benefits from having both partners at his back.
Most people say Nova makes a horrible anchor, but I have to disagree. As an anchor, it’s true that he doesn’t get the benefits of having assist backing him up, but I feel like the boost he gets from X-Factor level 3 more than makes up for it. It definitely takes some time to get used to it, but the speed he gets makes his tri-jump :l: mix-ups pretty hard for the opponent to block properly, and his box dash into jumping :h: does great in crossing up, so getting in isn’t too much of a problem. Of course some shield pulses do well with controlling the space too. X-factor also gives him in insane damage boost. Combined with those tricky mix-up approaches, he can easily take out a character with minimal effort. Usually, when I got him on anchor, I regularly go through at least two of my opponent’s characters before X-factor runs out, and when that happens, I give myself a little rum, set up a shield, and work on some more mix-ups. Right now, I’m trying to see if I can set up some unblockables with the energy javelin. I’ve been anchoring him since the game started and am very pleased with how it works out.

Took down a level 3 X-Factor Phoenix with Nova who ran out of X-factor after throwing out a shield.

I’m beginning to think that Nova is another Skrull for me: I understand the character and the combos, but for some reason, it just doesn’t come together in a real match. I really want to use both of them, but nothing ever seems to work out with those two for me.

how do you do the nova fly unfly combo? i can’t seem to pull it off
Slow and steady wins the race. If you’re getting the Human Rocket Punch in your Jump :h: part, you’re doing the combo way too fast. Get into a nice rhythm, you’ll get it.
So finally started doing Rank matches after about ( 4 - 500 player matches ). Not bad so far Im 26 - 10. Some fraudulent wins and loses but hey =D. I can’t for the life of me do the H loop online. So I just go for the more simple combos. I can do it in the corner sometimes though, but I usually just opt for the HRP Loop.
9th Lord baby >=D
P.S. Is there a list somewhere that tells you the criteria for being what rank?? LIke how many wins /losses to be 8th Lord or 8th Scout etc etc etc
I think it also depends on who you beat. Ie. beating Fighters 1000 times might equal beating a Cosmic Lord once.

what are some of Novas safe blockstrings? I think its a risky dude without the use of an assist
5A, 5B, and 2C are all safe. 5C is safe against most everybody. H Pulse is safe but slow, and any L or M pulse is + on block with any amount of red life.
You gotta have your hitconfims on point with Nova, as usually your confirm will be JumpA>2A>5B.
How do people feel thus far about Nova? Personally I don’t think he will end up being very good simply beause he lacks a really good and fast low and the overheads are really seable. I’m curious to see if anyone else thinks he’s limited in terms of his ability to open people up and what people are doing to work around this deficiency. Just picked up Nova so apologize if my proposed discussion has been analyzed already.
His High/Low is strong but not overly so, Nova’s Left/Right is where he gets really stupid.
He hits hard, has little to no problem getting in backed with an assist, gets insanely fast in X-factor, has a good high/low game, has a great left/right game, can combo off of any throw, can get any throw he wants, has one of the best reset games in the game, and is just plain awesome. From the time he was leaked, I was hyped up, from the time his trailer was released, I was ecstatic, now that I’m playing him, he’s probably my favorite character in the game, which is great because he’s my favorite Marvel comic book character, too.
I need examples though. Where does his high low mixup game get good when 2A isn’t a low? How do you set up the left/right mixups? Point me in the direction of some videos if possible.
You don’t need a low hitting 2A to have a good high/low game, what you need is a relatively fast low. Nova has that in his 2C and 2B (the 2C is safe on block too). You cannot react to those moves. The main reason people like the hyper fast 2A’s are because it can make blocking the trijump rythmically very hard. Despite not having a low 2A Nova can still blow up people blocking on reflex, and that is fuzzy guard. Nova has one of the best Fuzzy guard moves in his jA. With a good assist at you back (I use Drones), it’s easy to convert this to a dead character. He can also easily double overhead you with his jA. Nova also has a standing overhead, it’s not really very good for mixup, but it’s not useless for opening people up.
Like I said, good, not great.
As for the left right. Just play with his jA a bit, it is an insanely good crossup. jC also crosses up, but it’s much harder to set up and mostly acts as insurance against people who try to dash under you. You can also use Centurion B for assisted cross-ups, it can be very hard to block as you can affect which side it hits on by varying you timing. This is best with Drones for obvious reasons.
If you want a video example, watch Yipes play Nova.
