I seriously think PW in Turnabout mode (Which is hella easy to access) will be the absolute cheapest thing since Dark Phoenix… Seriously.
I don’t think turnabout mode is gonna be easy to access at all.
Remember, he has to hit you with something to combo into OBJECTION!!! I didn’t see any mixup, and mobility, or any way to be a threat at all until AFTER he gets turnabout. On top of that, I didn’t see many of those problems addressed in turnabout. You’ll have to be on the defensive when he’s persecuting to be sure, but I don’t see running or waiting it out to be a huge problem. However, thanks to that Hyper, I’d be mad careful regardless. He’s kinda like a phoenix, without the good tools, that’s harder to go dark with, and the dark mode only lasts 5 seconds.
I hope you are right. Seems like objection stuffs anything you do. I have seen it counter hit shield skills and Nemesis doing that Shoulder rush thingie. Matter of fact the only time I have seen it land is when someone else tried to hit him or they just werent blocking.
It also isn’t that fast, so I don’t see OBJECTION stuffing alot of stuff. Now getting hit with 3 HOLD IT!'s could see, and that would lead to OBJECTION!.
I actually agree with this , at first i thought that it activated no matter what but then i saw that it has to actually hit. then i thought to myself why would it hit?
not to mention turnabout mode is based on luck , not getting it that first time will most likely get him killed
sure his level 3 looks powerfull and turnabout mode has a huge finger but withthe exception of the level 3 why should you really even get hit
plus im really on the fence about iron fist his assits look good but he will strugle against projectiles or anybody airbore
anywhos back to nova and
i hope max dose the longer section on nova , the info drought is horrible
i was sold on playing him from the start though
I love the ‘everything but Nova’ thread
About turnabout, the right way to use it anyways is to spam the crap out of evidence for chip, then confirm any hits into super.
yo the info drought makes wondering minds…wonder
Need… Game…
Can’t see it. He gets a magical finger with derp hitboxes and damage, but with no flight, no good wave dash and without Phoenix’s herp derp teleport and LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL it’s going to be easy to runaway from Wright until his turnabout mode runs out.
I was going to say “Well, what about Wrights who just use the Evidence for projectile spam?”
Then I realized Kamen Rider Dick has moves, plural, that go right through projectiles. If that sticks in the final build, I think a lot of defense lawyers are going to be in for one hell of a surprise on November 15 (mind you, I’m glad Wright’s in. He’s a very cool addition to the roster).
I don’t like Wright, simply because he has a random (legitimately random) element to his gamplay. I think that that is bad fighting game design, not matter what form it takes. The rest of him I’m okay with I guess. It’s just another dumb gimmick character that I could really do without.
Gravimetric Pulse (all three versions mind you, shield included) doesn’t look very good so far. At all. And the C version (the shield) eats red life…for not much reward at all as far as we know. I would use that on Gravimetric Blaster instead.
Luckily nothing else eats red life. (Power of the Nova Force doesn’t eat red life in any video I’ve seen of it, if I’m wrong point me to it)
(By the way, it’s Centurion Rush, not Centurion Arts, at first I thought he was saying Imperial Arts lol)
Gravimetric Pulse A and B also use red life making the burst larger and cause a wall bounce. They actually look like decent Combo Enders/Extenders.
And C Gravimetric Pulse makes a HUGE ass shield that stays out FOREVER!
Really dangerous in mix ups. Kill char, set up shield on incoming char wasting red life. Then mix up. Dead char.
Just an idea.
Also, there are two ways to get retarded damage in MvC3:
- Find moves that you can do regardless of hitstun: Noval has alot of potential here with his variety of bounces and ways to cause a hard knockdown. Reminds me of Dante.
2)Stack as many Heavy and Special moves at the beginning of a combo as possible (the prorate less): Those hari-kari pulses might be very good for that.
Annnd then you realize the character coming in is jump-blocking, and by the time you tag out it’ll be done.
…yeah. It would be better if they landed before the shield came out, but if you try that you’ll either get hit or they’ll jump/airdash/hyper before they land.
That’s the problem with his shield; the main use it has doesn’t do its job. It’s not like Jam Session.
Using this as a safe way to tag out is flawed as well, since you’re burning the red life of the character you’re tagging out. You just gimped yourself.
Hm, then again it should be okay midscreen I guess.
Then you catch them at the end of the blockstun with an airgrab. Or move Nova to the corner so it can setup a left right mixup.
Depends on where the char dies. But leave room for Nova to get BEHIND the char that is incoming. Or above slightly with his airdash that looks prime for left right mixups.
It swoops as he does it. So perform uber shield. Fly above, airdash, input some normals, possible mixup.
It’s just that I do NOT see the point in burning so much red life on chance, when you could burn it by killing a character off as if you had XFactor, but you don’t burn that. If Nova’s going out, make him go out and take someone down in the process; not just provide a mixup and hope they don’t block it.
That’s all, really. I can’t see myself using it…ever. Maybe if it didn’t burn ALL of your red life.
It’s similar to how in TvC you wouldn’t Baroque just to cancel something and make your mixups stronger if you had a huge amount of red life (like 40% or more) when you could be using it to kill someone stupid fast. It’s just not worth it.
Red Life is a more expendable resource than XF is why. And depends on the placement of Nova. Point and Anchor will have different purposes but the chance for any char to setup a mixup with no assists is insane. Or use the shield then XF then attack.
The thing is he can give himself his own mixup option utilizing the shield. A 50/50 mixup with no assit on an incoming char is a great thing. Logan can do the same thing.
