For some reason I think I’m gonna try putting him on point for my MODOK team. Maybe with Doom or Task or strange or RR (if he looks nice) in the back.

I was hesitant about using Nova ( not really ), but after hearing from an official source that he’s the most strongest, I’m definitely going to be running him in all my teams.

I wonder what assists would work for a team like that? Probably between Jam Session and Weasel Shot.

I think weasel shot would be better, unless Nova turns out to be more zoney than people think. Weasel shot will be great for pressure, because it will make people hesitant to attack during your strings or try and push block or beat your attacks. I see Nova being similar to Taskmaster with not so great high/low mixups, but good safe strings that become great mixups with assists. I guess we’ll see how he turns out.

I just want Aegis Reflector to be be able to cross over and get behind people. In the middle of a ground combo, throw that shit out there and get a couple of extra hits before launch into super.

I dunno if I’m just crazy, but I’ve noticed people stop looking at the first post after a while for character threads. Karsticles’ outline seems like a lot of work for stuff people tend to stumble upon eventually. When it comes to character threads, you only really need the basics (ie specials, supers, command normals, assists, couple vids).

Karst did a really thorough format that has a lot of good information in it. But I think it just has a bit too much ‘data’. Dorm might be an exception because all of his normals and specials seem to have an actual practical use, but unless there’s something that specifically needs to be mentioned about a move’s use I don’t see the point of putting it in the guide. Just say “This is best used in this situation and this for that. The rest is garbage unless this and that”. I feel like most of the Marvel 3 character topics are lacking a lot but should be somewhere between where they are and Karst’s topic.

Blackheart’s topic in Marvel 2 is a good example of thoroughness without fluff~

While there’s room for specualtion, I doubt it will be as effective as the real Aegis Reflector. I mean look at dark hole it’s an ok assist Nova’s aegis may stick out a bit longer but it’s more or the less the same thing as far as combos are concerned perhaps worse. Not to derail Nova hype but I don’t think his shield is where it’s at (besides perhaps some sick setups on wake up combined with an assist).

This is true. To expect it to be anything like the real thing is more so a wish then a plausible outcome. With that in mind I agree that the shield isn’t going to be a large focus(or at least not in they way I’ve envisioned playing him),but what I am interested in regards to the possible setups it can provide or maybe even the interesting combo’s it may produce. Especially if it has some rather applicable reset opportunities.

Also, no worries on hype derail. That train always keeps truckin’ :smokin:

I’m still on the fence on Phoenix, but Iron Fist does look dangerous. However, he has no air game whatsoever and, in my opinion, Nova seems to top him in almost every way.
