In regards to BR5, that should’ve happened years ago with the launch of the 360 and the PS3. But last time I checked Konami is running that with the buyout of Hudson a while back. So no one more than me would love to play as Shen Long and Alice again, but I highly doubt we’ll ever see it. Just the same I would love to see Squeenix make another Bouncer game but I gave that dream up a long time ago.
Bloody Roar 4 was released in America by Konami as an unfinished beta (As I’ve said before: this happens every time a japanese company releases a game here first. They save the FINISHED game, usually with gameplay modes, stages, features, and characters, for the japanese release). 8ing/Hudson did this with Bloody Roar Primal Fury for the US Gamecube (the japanese Gamecube version is the US xbox version, except it’s intros and endings are traditional anime rather than the xbox versions in-game sprites). I would prefer an updated version of the BR1 engine, with all the stages and characters from the entire series (with whatever tweaks necessary to make the derivative characters (Stun, Jenny) tweaked to be even more different from the characters they were created from (Mitsuko, Fox). Sort of a Hyper Beast Mega-Duel.
I wish there was a character transfer market, because I’d love to see Shina/Marvel in a more popular fighter.
Won’t likely happen, unless Dream Factory (the development team of the Tobal games) and Square Enix come to an understanding.
And I doubt that either party is in that much of a hurry to get back together with the other…

Personally, I think BR3 was the best in the series. I never even realized there were actual launchers/air combos in the game (not just juggles) for a long time.
Part 4 was super half assed. Plus it had the worst VA dubbing I’ve ever heard in a game. if Rhio is right and it was a beta, then that would explain everything.

Agreed. What was up with the Beast thing being nearly unlimited? The strategy of saving your gauge and not getting knocked down was part of what made the past games so great. In BR4, If one player is beast and the other human the beast mode guy is pretty much invincible. And why does the game look worse than PR:PF (IMO)?

XD Haha, now if only Squeenix and Mistwalker and Dream Factory, and Toriyama could all come together, and that way we could have Tobal with Blue Dragon and Dragon Quest characters, questing in the quest mode… And then you could release a new Bushido Blade too…

while I’ld lean on BR3 engine getting updated (perhaps to SC3 level), a complete roster return would be a must. I’m just not sure It would be enough for a triumphant comeback, but maybe enough to build a comeback game on.

Could Konami possibly make one if they thought it would make profit since they bought out Hudson? Or has the original crew that made BR2, PF and 3 gone?
BR5 on 360 would be so much badass. But honestly I wish they just keep the essentials. Instead adding all that unneccessary shit from 4.
Bring back the OG Rave engine from BR1, Keep the secret beast drives from 3, and ummm…I can’t remember the other shit. I dunno lol just keep it simple. Also I’m sick and tired of the media industry remaking titles like hot cakes then slapping the same title on it like they didn’t end up fucking their franchises up. It’s a terrible fad I must say. I want a continued storyline ya dig, but ya know kinda give it that BR4 didn’t exist feeling to it. You know kinda like how capcom forgot DMC2 existed.

I remember the first time I played Primal Fury. Wasn’t too long ago really. But the thing I’ll never forget about that day was everyone in my classroom coming over yelling “IS THAT BLOODY ROAR?! I loved that game on the playstation!” Everyone loved bloody roar 2 in the entire room. Even all the girls who never really played games knew wtf it was and loved it. People in the casual base still remember the series.
And yes, I would love a BR5 as long as it was based off Primal Fury/Extreme. Some changes need to be made to the hyper beast, sidestepping needs to be improved and the grabbing system needs to be altered. Seriously, Primal Fury and Extreme were pretty awesome games that just need a few tweaks here and there.
If they were to make a new game though some characters are going to need to be redesigned. The characters designs have gotten rather dull in PR/Ex/br4. This is one of the main aspects I think that stopped the later installments from getting noticed… they simply were not pretty enough and the characters didnt have memorable looks.
I think it would do the game well to bring back some of the characters from the first game as well. New characters would need to have a unique looks, more insane and less generic. Ganesha needs a replacement as well which is good since his moveset could use a little reworking.
I would love the story to slightly continue off Primal Fury/Extreme and tie it all in to the first two. That grinning guy at the end of Gado’s story as a cliffhanger really pisses me off because of the potential it could have brought (and then getting stuck with the BR4 shit make me quite mad). Seriously there was some potential here that just got massacred.

I agree about the storyline and all of your points but what I don’t get was: Was Primal Fury considered canon in the storyline? I mean, even if it was it wouldn’t mess the plot either way, but I recall someone calling it a spin-off and that the story didn’t count.
